The Birth of Mewtwo (Japanese: ミュウツーの誕生 Mewtwo no Tanjō) is a CD drama that only appeared in Japan. It was released in 1998, a few months after the premiere of Mewtwo Strikes Back in Japanese cinemas. It was also adapted to an anime special that was dubbed into English. The special appears in the DVD of Mewtwo Returns.
Plot
The CD drama is divided into five parts:
- The Mirage: "Mew" (幻の「ミュウ」 Maboroshi no "Mew").
- The Birth of Mewtwo (ミュウツーの誕生 Mewtwo no Tanjō).
- Mewtwo and Amber (ミュウツーとアイ Mewtwo to Ai).
- The Strongest Pokémon of the World (世界最強のポケモン Sekai Saikyō no Pokémon).
- Mewtwo Strikes Back (ミュウツーの逆襲 Mewtwo no Gyakūshu).
