Different Versions

I think there should be articles for Pokérap GS and Hoenn Pokérap. And here there should be a list of the languages that it had been dubbed in. Porygon-Z 02:00, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Take a look at your links. They're blue. This means we already have articles about the other two Pokéraps. --Shiningpikablu252 03:45, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Late reply* -.- I know that when they're blue there is an article, but whenever I typed in pokerap gs nothing came up. It should redirect to Pokérap GS, which I'm doing now. Porygon-Z 18:02, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

The Indigo League PokéRap has 6 versions

Apart from the full version of the PokéRap, there is one version for each day of the week. The Monday version lists 32 Pokémon from Electrode to Wigglytuff, the Tuesday version lists 32 more Pokémon from Zubat to Pikachu, the Wednesday version lists 32 more Pokémon from Alakazam to Hitmonchan, the Thursday version lists 30 more Pokémon from Articuno to Magmar, and the Friday version lists the final 24 Pokémon on the list, Sandslash to Arbok. When they dubbed EP035, it was paired with the Friday PokéRap, but it was banned and replaced with a repeat of EP005, EP010, EP015, EP020, EP025, or EP030.-Hitmonlee 15:59, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Before I do anything

Would it hurt if I separate this article into two, This one stays, the other will just be an Article on what is a Pokérap, Also change the name of this article, If possible.--FF(edits-talk) 12:51, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Of course renaming this article would involve moving it. --FF(edits-talk) 12:54, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Too bad pplz it has been done. Like it or lick it.--FF(edits-talk) 15:27, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Bare Naked Ladies reference

I added the Bare Naked Ladies reference to the Trivia section, but I don't recall how to create an outside link to a Wikipedia page. Could someone take care of that for me please? Legionaireb 20:46, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Title

The title of this song is just "PokéRAP". Wouldn't it make more sense to call the article "PokéRAP (song)?" TeridaxXD001 (talk) 22:02, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Missing Information

You have credits for the performers and co-producer/arranger, but who was the other co-producer, who played the music and who wrote the song?

Also I understand that there has been a new version using the current list of 700+ pokémon. - unsigned comment from White Phoenix (talkcontribs)

As far as I know, there hasn't been an official one since Hoennrap. Eridanus (talk) 18:45, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Hidden joke, potential trivia?

The first Pokemon mentioned in the Pokerap is Electrode, also known in the National/Kanto Pokedex as "Pokemon #101". "Pokemon 101" would also be the name given to a beginner-level Pokemon course in the American education system: the first thing any trainer learns about a new Pokemon is its name, and the entire point of the Rap is to teach you their names. I can't believe it took me 17 years to get this joke, but I just thought I'd share. NLawson (talk) 19:12, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Ehh... I doubt it was intentional and more coincidental. I doubt whoever wrote the lyrics knew the dex numbers of any of the Pokémon.--ForceFire 03:39, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
Coming at it purely from probability, that's one huge coincidence. Given that they could have used Bulbasaur (#1), or Pikachu (the mascot), it seems likely that they chose Electrode for a reason. When you also consider that any of the other 149 Pokemon would all fit perfectly well into the rhythm (except perhaps Seel, Jynx, and Muk), and yet they chose the Ball Pokemon with no otherwise interesting features, that's a bit much to dismiss with "When they were told 'Put these 150 words into a song-list of no specific order', I doubt the writer did even the lightest of research into the subject matter for the sake of making a stupid pun". Songwriters *love* stupid puns.NLawson (talk) 20:15, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
"Seems likely" is a naked assumption; there could very easily have been no special reason. There's no evidence to support your assumption. Without that assumption, the actual evidence (they didn't choose a more logical start, and Electrode is #101) only makes it a normal sized coincidence.
If it is meant as a pun, it's not nearly clear enough (or "good enough", you could say). IMO there's just too much assumption required, not enough real evidence, to make it a good trivia point. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:47, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
Fair enough - you're not wrong that there could have been no special reason for putting Electrode first, though the only way to actually know would be to ask the writers themselves. I think that the vocal-emphasis placed on Pikachu with his position in the song points to the writers having done some basic research into the Pokemon (thus knowing that he was the mascot, and putting emphasis on him deliberately), so knowing which Pokemon is #101 and also using it to make a joke is not outside the realms of possibility, but I agree that only makes it plausible, not likely. I also think that "the fact that there is a joke" and "the likelihood of that joke being deliberate" are two separate points, and I'm not sure why I bothered to argue over the latter point (which has little support, as you say) when the former is the one I wanted to make. I'm also not sure why I started calling it a pun, when it's clearly a reference or in-joke and not wordplay, but there you go.
That said, I feel that the existence of the joke itself deserves a mention as much as the "If one was to rearrange the Pokérap[...]" point, since I doubt that was intentional either, and both are clearly true.NLawson (talk) 15:09, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
I still feel like you have to say too much to communicate the "joke" or something... But if you want, feel free to just try it. For my part, I'll try to give it the benefit of the doubt as much as I can, see if anyone else will act on it. (Though it may be courteous to wait for a bit on that course of action and see if ForceFire will want to add anything else here first.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:38, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

Jynx

For the new, censored DVDs, do they either remove or edit Jynx? TeridaxXD001 (talk) 02:57, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
