Release information

In Japan, this card was released as a Jumbo unnumbered S-P Promotional card and was available as part of a purchase campaign that ran between May 8 and July 8, 2021. Customers who purchased at least three booster packs in one transaction at any Pokémon Center or Pokémon Store were given a copy of this card. The Pokémon Center Online was specifically excluded from the campaign. Stores that were still closed at the start of the campaign due to COVID-19 restrictions began distributing cards as soon as they were able.[1]

Trivia

This card was only released as a Jumbo card and is therefore not legal to use in tournaments or official events.

Origin

Poké-lun TV is a Pokémon-based YouTube channel aimed at children and is hosted by three presenters: tak-kun, ha-chan, and toki-chan (this card's illustrator). The channel logo is featured in the bottom right corner of the artwork. The logo on the card has the word "Pokerun" in English, although the logo in other media, as well the trademark filed by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures, Inc., states "Poké-lun". Thunderbolt is a move in the Pokémon games that Pikachu can learn.
