Each of the Pokémon-ex in EX Ruby & Sapphire seem to be based on popular cards from pre-EX-series sets. This card in particular appears to be based on Fossil Magmar, with Super Singe filling Smog's Special Condition infliction role in a stronger, more reliable fashion.
