Your interview templates
Not sure how or why it happened, but two of the templates you created apparently ended up being created in the <code>Template:</code> space rather than the userspace where they should be. (The idea here is that anything in the <code>Template:</code> space is intended to actually be in the mainspace, give or take a few "meta" Bulbapedia exceptions.) Just wanted to let you know that I've moved them, and edited your InterviewTest userpage (the only page that used them) accordingly. Welcome to Bulbapedia, Lewtwo!
Bulbapedia bulb.png

Thank you for joining our community! By creating an account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. This is a brief introduction to Bulbapedia's rules and resources to help you get started:

  • All users are expected to follow the code of conduct and to be kind to one another.
  • If you have a question, check out our FAQ; the manual of style provides detailed editing guidance, and the wikicode page provides details about how to use wikicode.
    • You can always ask for help by contacting a staff member.
  • Please preview your edits before saving them; this helps you double-check your changes and reduces the need for repeated minor edits.
  • Use talk pages to discuss changes and resolve editing disputes.
  • Creating a userpage is allowed after you've added to the encyclopedia; for more details, see the userspace policy.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~) so people know who is commenting. This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links and information, check out the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Landfish7 08:50, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

A couple of things

Please make sure to use link templates whenever necessary, and there's also no need to italicize Pokémon names as that is not something we do here. Thank you.--ForceFire 08:59, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Your signature

Hey, I've noticed on Talk:Rellor (Pokémon)#Evolution and checking facts, that you appear to have customized your signature. Could you make sure it (also) reflects your username, though (as per the final guideline of our signature policy)? That ensures everyone can properly attribute your comments. Cheers, Nescientist (talk) 16:14, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

Pokédex images

When adding the Paldean Pokédex images to Pokémon articles, please be aware of the following details:

  1. Even if a Pokémon's name ends in an "s", an "s" should still be added after the apostrophe.
  2. "Image" should be written with a small "i", as it's not a name or at the start of a sentence.
  3. Bonus: This is optional, but I think the image frame would look better with rounded corners.

Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:20, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

If you think it looks better, feel free to make those changes to the established template going forward. Lewtwo (talk) 15:21, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
I will eventually, but given how many pages there are, help would be appreciated if possible. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:07, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Before doing anything, I think we should first create a template for this table. I'll try to make something until tomorrow.--Rocket Grunt 16:16, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Ok, this is pretty much done. How do you like it?

Rika image

For the Rika image, I am not using AI, I have no idea how to use AI anyways, I got it off the fandom (https://pokemon.fandom.com/wiki/Rika). --CuteSylveon42 (talk) 17:54, 17 May 2023 (UTC)

This is still AI upscaled artwork, the linework has been completely destroyed, especially on her pants. Please check carefully when uploading.Lewtwo (talk) 17:56, 17 May 2023 (UTC)

Template placement

For future reference: the stub template is usually placed at the bottom of the page instead of the top. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:25, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

Helpful hints

  1. Use link templates to avoid redirect links, such as game or game2 for game links before Generation VI.
  2. In case you're not sure if a link is a redirect link or not, use the preview button to check if it is.
  3. color2 is a good template to use in case you want links of another color.
  4. The plural form of a link can be written as (using an example link) Double Battles as opposed to Double Battles.
  5. Don't use "&" in place of "and" unless you're copying a text or name where it is used.
Thsnks. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:15, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

Wayback Machine

Are you sure you're entering things into the Wayback Machine? The link you put on Professor Willow says it has no saves of it (I've since entered the link to save but there's a queue of a few hours). glikglak 03:05, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Creating new pages

Hi! I just wanted to let you know a few important things when creating new pages:

  • Please make sure to add relevant categories to any new pages you create, such as Category:Game staff for Takato Utsunomiya or Category:Japanese Pokémon Center collections for WAKKA de IKKA. You can do this by adding a link to the category near the bottom of the page, like you did with on zounouse's page. Almost all pages should have a category, as it prevents them from showing up on Special:UncategorizedPages and also lets users navigate between related pages via the category listings.
  • To keep the references from showing up below things like navigation templates or the project notice, you can use <references/> or reflist to display the references list exactly where you want it.
  • When making new pages based off an existing page, make sure to remove any irrelevant interwiki links. For example, on zounose's page, the code it:Tika Matsuno added an "In other languages" link to the sidebar to Tika Matsuno on our Italian affiliate, which wouldn't be appropriate on zounose's page. You can just remove this code on new pages, and BulbaBot will add the relevant links if and when the other wiki makes a page on the subject. BulbaBot can't tell if an interwiki link was just copy-and-pasted and isn't supposed to be there, so please remove incorrect ones to keep it from getting confused.

Thank you! --Abcboy (talk) 23:04, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Advice

Some advice I'd like to give you:

  1. Things like "Core series artwork" and "settei" are not terms that have all first letters capitalized.
  2. "Colspan=1" is unnecessary, given that all images are one width by default.
  3. Try to avoid redirect links: for example, you can use the pcolor template for colored Pokémon species links.
  4. Try not to use "&" in place of "and".
  5. Remember that all core series games before X and Y have "Version" in their names, while those from X and Y onward do not.
  6. If artwork is already in use in the page's info box, it doesn't need to be in the gallery.

Examples provided here. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:41, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Some advice I'd like to give you:
  1. Do not remove artwork from the Gallery tables.
  2. Do not label 2D sprites as "models" when they are ripped from the game as 2D sprites.
  3. Do not add "artwork" when it is already in a section labeled "artwork." - unsigned comment from Lewtwo (talkcontribs)
Edited my above post a bit. And 3D games use models, not sprites. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:45, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
3D games have sprites. The VS Sprites in games such as BDSP are ripped are SPRITE files directly in Unity from assetstudio. The sprites in games such as Sun & Moon are ripped directly as .png textures via spriterips through LTD Emulation play or romfs dumping. Please read here for a clear definition and please stop causing an edit war on Cynthia's page over terminology that you're unsure of, as it causes innaccuracy. - unsigned comment from Lewtwo (talkcontribs)
I admit, I have no problem with using the term "sprite" instead of "model", but that hardly justifies reverting my entire edits. PS. Do not forget to sign you posts. And do not re-sign them later, it gives them an incorrect time stamp.--FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:52, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
If all of your edits are purely personal preference (especially evident given that the artwork situation has been the case on other pages for some time now) then I will revert them on the basis that you have added inaccurate information. I'm fine with you making edits that are, again, purely personal preference, but they will be reverted if they cause inaccuracies regardless, as keeping information true on the wiki is a priority. You have a history of making incredibly small personal edits from glancing at the "recent changes" page, which can disrupt the information from a prior edit, and was why I reverted.--Lewtwo (talk) 10:57, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
My edits are not "personal preference". I remove redirect pages and try to maintain consistency with how other pages do the same thing. Please do not dismantle entire huge edits when the problems you have with them are only a very minor portion of them. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:37, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Inaccurate information is more of my priority than removing redirect pages that have the same outcome to the average user.--Lewtwo (talk) 11:39, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Sentence case

Hey! I've noticed you using title case a lot in articles that you create or edit, so I wanted to give you a friendly reminder that, as per the manual of style, we use sentence case wherever possible on Bulbapedia. This includes article titles, disambiguation tags, section titles, and image captions. If you have any questions about what sentence case entails, feel free to respond here or shoot me a DM on Discord. Thank you! Storm Aurora (talk) 00:09, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Iono Edit War

I've noticed that yourself and Finnnish seem to be involved in an edit war over Masters images on Iono's page, after checking with my fellow admin, images related to the Masters should go on her Masters page and not on her game page. Going forward if you disagree, please use the talk page so you can openly discuss this with Finnish and other members to avoid an edit war.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 13:56, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

I dunno why this is the case at all, or why this was decided? The only instance why this seems to be the case was because nobody seemed to care about Gallery sections on character pages until now, it's still artwork of Iono that belongs on her gallery. --Lewtwo (talk) 15:37, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
Additionally, Finnish has REMOVED 10k bytes of non-artwork content from her page. I'll also ping him in the Discord about this, since it's a serious overstep of moving assets.--Lewtwo (talk) 15:40, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Talk pages

Please remember when posting on someone's talk page to use their current talk page instead of one that has been archived.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 17:10, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Drafts

When creating a draft for a new or a modified page, please hide category links or templates that cause them to appear in one. User space pages are not meant to appear in the same categories with main space pages, as far as I know. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:34, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

Popping in to say that yes, it's stated in the userspace policy that categories intended for mainspace pages should not be used on userspace pages. Many templates have a "nocat" parameter that toggles whether the page is automatically added to a specific category, so use that if you can. Storm Aurora (talk) 18:41, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

Apology

I'm sorry for offending you before. I knew I wanted to try to tone down the conversation, but I made a very bad choice in formulating that response. I didn't mean to be condescending, but I should've chosen my words better. I'm sorry.

I know Bulbapedia is supposed to be welcoming to all, so I am going to work especially hard to carry that out going forward, so that we don't alienate people like you.

Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:57, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

English terms

I just want to remind you that there was a discussion at User talk:Tiddlywinks#Production Terminology page. We do want to do something about this topic. If you've said your piece, then I guess that's that; but if you still had a response, I'll be glad to hear it there. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:53, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I have a lot to add to it, I've just been busy working on other aspects of the site. --Lewtwo (talk) 15:05, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Categorizing pages

Please make sure to add categories to new pages that you create so that they don't show up on Special:UncategorizedPages. You can add a category by putting a link like near the bottom of the page. --Abcboy (talk) 19:04, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Userspace policy

As part of the userspace policy, Categories intended for mainspace pages (this includes categories added by some templates) cannot be used on userspace pages, including drafts. This includes any mainspace oriented cleanup tags, such as incomplete, as well as any navigational templates that add a navigational category, like designer. Categories are intended to be a navigation between mainspace pages, and there are often times where categories are called via the "PAGESINCATEGORY" function, which depends on the categories not having any extra or inappropriate pages inside it. Relatedly, due to technical settings, interwiki links can only correspond on a 1 to 1 basis. If a second page uses an interwiki link that is already used, the BulbaBot equivalents on all the Encyclopædiæ Pokémonis will change to the newest added interwiki link. In this example, all of the other language partners' pages on Hitoshi Ariga would now point to User:Lewtwo/Hitoshi Ariga instead of the correct Hitoshi Ariga. I have hidden the links on your draft for now, and they can be unhidden at a later time when the page is no longer in the userspace. MaverickNate 09:47, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

ty, my bad!--Lewtwo (talk) 16:04, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Page categories and project notices

Hi! Just a friendly reminder to make sure new articles you create are categorized, such as the articles FENDI x FRGMT x POKÉMON and Genzou you created recently. If you're unsure what category an article belongs to, feel free to reach out to a staff member. Additionally, be careful to avoid removing categories when updating a page, such as with this edit. Oh, and don't forget to make sure to add any relevant project notices as well, if applicable. Thanks! Landfish7 17:47, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

Image placement

When placing an image onto an article, please make sure to define its size and make sure it's not not getting displaced by a template above it or another image. You can avoid this by placing your image on the opposite side ofvthe page, for example. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:39, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

If you're referring to the XY images I uploaded, I already did this for all of them. Do you have an example? --Lewtwo (talk) 15:43, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
None of the images you uploaded had their sizes defined. Here is an example. I moved the image to the other side of the page and defined its size to make it smaller. If an image's size is not defined, it will be the size it was uploaded as. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:14, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
3DS images are natively at 240px. They don't need to be made smaller, most images on the site are of that size. --Lewtwo (talk) 19:27, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Actually, adding |thumb will always cause the image to be rendered at the user's default thumbnail size (which is set in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-rendering), not the full size image. That being said, different users may have different thumbnail sizes, so defining an explicit size always helps ensure that the layout will remain the same way for all users. → PikaTepig999 19:25, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Also, for future reference, if you want your image to be on the right side of the page, you don't need to add the "right" text on the file link. Images automatically settle on the right side of the page by default. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:18, 24 March 2024 (UTC)

Your interview templates

Not sure how or why it happened, but two of the templates you created apparently ended up being created in the Template: space rather than the userspace where they should be. (The idea here is that anything in the Template: space is intended to actually be in the mainspace, give or take a few "meta" Bulbapedia exceptions.) Just wanted to let you know that I've moved them, and edited your InterviewTest userpage (the only page that used them) accordingly. Nescientist (talk) 18:09, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
