Announcements
- I will be online in on and off doses until Winter Break.
- I will mostly be able to be online during weekends or weekday afternoons.
- Winter Break starts on Dec. 17th through Jan. 3rd.
♪Notes♪
- I am frequently looking to check notability of trivial facts and supposed "errors" in the anime. If you think one of my edits to a trivia section or "error section" on a page is unproductive or isn't needed please inform me on the talk page of that article.
- I will occasionally edit an article if I think something is missing or is needed on that article. If you think one of my edits to an article is unproductive or isn't needed please inform me on the talk page of that article.
- Recently, I have been checking for pages that need redirects and then making the respective redirects. If you think I made an unnecessary redirect please inform me on the talk page of that article or on my user talkpage.
- I am frequently undoing edits that are too obvious/already mentioned in the article/untrue.

I didn't exactly know the ropes when I joined Bulbapedia. First of all, I didn't know that mainspace had high priority over the userspace, so basically, I edited the userspace a lot at first. I had previously contributed to Wikipedia, but I didn't have any idea how different it'd be from Bulbapedia.
One of the first things I learned on Bulbapedia, was that the preview button is key! I learned that after editing on my userpage a zillion times to get my signature looking right.
Ranger Base was the first article I have ever made on Bulbapedia, and it wasn't too shabby. Though it wasn't easy, with a bit of a hop, skip, and a jump, I finally was starting to get the hang of the rules and regulations on Bulbapedia.
Another important thing I learned about on Bulbapedia is too NEVER, MAKE A SOCKPUPPET ACCOUNT. I had done so to vandalise a page to prove that it could be vandalised due to not being protected. I got caught ever so easily and was banned for a while. If you REALLY need to make an alternate account, ask an admin first.
After a small time away from Bulbapedia, I came back and started fresh. I started making more productive edits, with a few slip-ups along the way.
After making tons of miscellaneous edits, I started finding a trend of things I liked to do that I knew I could help out with. (see "Notes")
Later, I began joining some Bulbapedia projects.
By this point in time I learned a lot of things that I wish I knew when I first joined, so as to help out new users, I created a list of useful things for new users on my userpage!
On Project MoveDex, I had come up with one of my most productive ideas I've ever came up with on the wiki. For more info on that, click this. →♫
One important thing to learn on the 'pedia is the coding. It's very different from other wikis and Wikipedia. The way I learned is by looking at the codes and tweaking things to see what breaks. After a while, I got better (I'm still not perfect) at editing the coding of articles. If I do have trouble though, I usually just make an edit request on the respective talk page.
I've always like trivia sections, however, at one point, trivia became the only thing I edited. After taking a certain user's advise, I stopped editing trivia sections, and instead, started removing useless trivia. (See "Notes") My edits started becoming better and better, I even began moving pages and making pages.
Lately, I've started using Firefox to view Bulbapedia, or if I'm editing the code on a page. I still use Internet Explorer to make quick edits to an article or too add to a discussion on a talk page. If you see what Bulbapedia is supposed to look like on Firefox, you'll never want to see it through IE.
I have made 2 new pages about Master of Illusions: Zoroark, which came out in Japan recently. This is when I learned about making pages in the userspace before making it in the mainspace, and then getting permission from an admin to add it to the mainspace. (See "Fishy Advice")
Because of school I haven't been able to do much and just have been roaming the encyclopedia looking for missing bits. Meanwhile, one thing I've been working on is looking through the new Generation 5 pages to see how I can help. Also, I have started my own personal project to create redirects that I believe are necessary. (See "Notes")
I hope to be a greater contributor as I move on in Bulbapedia without many more mistakes. I'll do anything for Bulbapedia to help make it the greatest Pokémon Encyclopedia ever♫.
Fishy Advice
In no particular order, here is some advice I've come up with for new or inexperienced users.
Recent Changes
- If you can't find anything to do, click the "Recent changes" option on the left side of the screen to find something that you find should be changed.
Random Page
- On the left side of the screen, you can also click "Random page" and look through that page for something you feel is missing or needs to be changed.
Edit Focus
- Find something that you are good at doing and make that your main way of editing. Some people help Bulbapedia projects that specialize only on certain types of articles.
- Join a project. If you have one thing that you are focusing on than you can find yourself making tons of useful edits.
- Please try to focus your edits on the facts and not stuff like Trivia.
- If you can't think of something new and useful, try looking at the errors in the article and fix those.
- This could include spelling or grammatical errors.
- This could include factual errors.
- If you search for an article and you don't get the one you are looking for, if you do find the article you are looking for, you might want to create a redirect for that page so that people in the future can locate it.
- For example, if there was a trainer in the anime known as "Derik", and people called him "Diddy" and you searched "Diddy" and found that the page didn't exist, you could create the page and make it redirect to "Derik" by putting this in "#redirect [[Derik]]" and saving. Then, if someone searched "Diddy" it would automatically go to "Derik".
Preview Button
- Use the "show preview" button to revise your edit.
User Contributions
- At the top of the screen there is an option called "contributions". This is to check what kind of edits you have made recently. I highly suggest using that to see if you are making too many edits to the userspace. If a majority of your edits has "user" at the beginning, I suggest taking a break from editing the userspace and save it for the next day or save it for when you have made many productive edits to the mainspace.
Userspace
- Use your userspace to try codes out. If you want to make something fancy for the mainspace, first try messing with the coding on your userspace. To make a page within your userspace name it like so:
User:YourUsernameHere/YourPageNameHere
- Most people name this kind of page like this: User:YouUsernameHere/Sandbox.
Ask an Admin[5]...
- When in doubt . . . ask an Admin.
- This is always one of the best things you can do when in a pickle. Look for an admin and get help! They will always be open to help you. Just be sure the admin isn't busy.
- If an article is protected and you have something useful you want to add, make an edit request on the respective talk page, or ask an Admin.
DON'T SOCKPUPPET!!!
- NEVER MAKE A SOCKPUPPET ACCOUNT!! If you REALLY feel like you need to, ask an Admin.
New Pages
- When you want to make a page for the mainspace, I suggest putting it in your userspace first and then an admin will add it if it meets Bulbapedia's standard and isn't downright awful!!
- To do this name the article like this:
User:YourUsernameHere/YourArticleNameHere
Firefox
- Try to view Bulbapedia on Firefox. Bulbapedia is meant to be viewed by this and it is much better. Honestly, once you've seen the true Bulbapedia, Internet Explorer makes it look awful
Welcoming New Users
- If you are new to Bulbapedia, you probably have recieved a welcome message on your talk page! If you truthfully have nothing you can do to help Bulbapedia, you can always welcome other fellow new users! Here is how to welcome other new users! If you go here-->[6] you can see all of the newest users! If you find one that doesn't have a talk page, go to it and type this in--> "{{subst:welcome}}" Then click save! As easy as 1.. 2.. 3... *POOF* You welcomed a new user!
I will add more to this list if I find some more thing's that are useful.
My History with Pokémon
I've been a Pokémon Trainer since the start . . . and due to this, the story is pretty lengthy. So I saved this userpage some space and stuffed it inside this small heart→ ♥ :3
