A Tamer (Japanese: もうじゅうつかい Wild Beast Tamer) is a type of Pokémon trainer that first debuted in the Generation I games. They are young men with whips and hypnosis wheels.

They generally use version-exclusive Pokémon like Arbok or Sandslash.
