The Secret Key (Japanese: ひみつのカギ Secret Key) is a key item available in Pokémon Platinum. It is only obtainable through a Nintendo Event. It is shaped like Rotom's head.

The Secret Key opens up a secret room at the Galactic Eterna Building, containing five appliances necessary for Rotom to change between its six forms. Rowan comes in when ones changes Rotom's form for the first time, explaining its history.

From September 28, 2008 to November 4, 2008 and from January 16 to March 2, 2009, players of the Japanese version of Pokémon Platinum could download the Secret Key over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. It can be given to five other players of Platinum.

From from April 19, 2009 to April 24, 2009, players of the English version of Pokemon Platinum can obtain the Secret Key at Toys "R" Us stores in Canada and America. It can also be obtained in North America over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection from April 20 to May 12.
