A PokéManiac (Japanese: かいじゅうマニア Monster Maniac) is a type of Pokémon trainer that first debuted in the Generation I games. They were originally presented as strange boys with long hair in trenchcoats. In Generation III, they were changed so that they became cosplayers dressing up in Charizard costumes.

They raise many different Pokémon, although all of them tend to appear reptilian in terms of looks - such as Lairon, Lickitung and Charmander.
