==Coin Maximums==
Whenever a Poké is picked up whilst exploring a dungeon, they are bound by a special condition known as a '''coin maximum'''. The coin maximum is essentially the limit that the Poké cannot go over. For example, if a dungeon's coin maximum is 500, that means no Poké will go over or to this limit. The value of a Poké will always be randomly assigned and will ''never'' exceed the coin maximum.

===Coin Watcher IQ Skill===
However, there is a way to have Poké go beyond the coin maximum, and that is to have a Pokémon who has the [[IQ Skill]], Coin Watcher, as Team Leader. This happens because, according to the description of the aforementioned skill, the inheritor of the skill has a keener eye for money and thus gains more Poké than usual upon picking it up.

This article is about the currency in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games. For the currency in Pokémon Channel, see Currency → Pokémon Channel. For the Pokémon franchise, see Pokémon. For other uses, see Pokémon (disambiguation).

Poké (Japanese: ポケ Poké) is a type of currency used in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon world. In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, it is referred to as PoKé. Starting from Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, Poké is referred to as its icon, or simply money. In Gates to Infinity, a downloadable dungeon named Poké Forest has Poké in most rooms.

Poké is obtained by finding it on the ground in Mystery Dungeons or selling items to Kecleon Shops. Just like in the core series games, Poké can also be collected by using Pay Day. The value of any Poké found in a dungeon is randomly assigned, but will not exceed the coin maximum, the limit that any stack of Poké cannot go over for a given dungeon. If the Team Leader has the IQ Skill Coin Watcher, more Poké will be obtained, potentially exceeding the coin maximum. When the player passes over Poké, it is immediately added to the player's money on hand. It cannot be placed in the Treasure Bag unless the player runs over it (it will not be picked up), then swaps it for another item in the bag.

Poké may be spent on various food items, TMs, and other goods in Kecleon Shops. Poké can also be spent at the Gulpin Link Shop, Wigglytuff Club, Croagunk's Swap Shop, Xatu Appraisal, Secret Bazaar, and Rockin' Lock.

If the player, or partner prior to being able to change team leader, is defeated inside a dungeon, the team will lose all of its current moneyRBTDSMDRTDX, half of its current moneySBSL, or no money at allGtI. However, money kept at the Felicity BankRBRTDX, Duskull BankTDSBSL, or the Deposit BoxSMD will not be lost.
