Oak's Letter

Oak's Letter (Japanese: オーキドのてがみ Okido's Letter) is a key Event item from Pokémon Platinum, received through a Nintendo event via Wi-Fi and through Mystery Gift. It is needed to access the Seabreak Path and Flower Paradise, where Shaymin can be found. It is the third of the four event items in the Sinnoh-based games, being preceeded by the Secret Key and Member Card and followed by the as of yet unannounced Azure Flute.

To access the Flower Paradise, players must receive the letter from Professor Oak. When it is in the bag, Professor Oak will be standing at the north of Route 224. After speaking with him, the player can examine the big rock to bring up a keyboard. Typing anything will cause Seabreak Path to appear. This is an extremely long road that leads to the very northeast corner of Sinnoh, where Flower Paradise is located. Shaymin is briefly met before exiting the area. When encountered again in the Flower Paradise, Shaymin is Level 30.

Trivia

  • Even though the Shaymin residing at the Flower Paradise would be caught in the wild, it always appears to have been met in a fateful encounter of caught.
    • This is likely because of the Gradicea Flower events that are triggered by a fateful encounter Shaymin to use Sky-form Shaymin.
