Mega (Japanese: メガぴょん Megapeon) is one of the Pokémon owned by Crystal in the Pokémon Special manga. Meganium debuted as a Chikorita in Sneaky Sneasel as a cameo. It officially debuted in Vs. Chikorita.

History

As a Chikorita, it was left on its own after Silver stole Totodile and Gold took Cyndaquil. It wanted to go on adventures with a trainer. However, the trainer had no plans of adding new Pokémon to her team, and it ran away from the lab to convince her. Since all of Crys's team members have a star theme, Chumee gave it its star pendant. Mega evolved in Larvitar's Too Cunning when it battled the Larvitar that attacked her Arcanine in the past. At the Whirl Islands, fighting alongside Explotaro and Croconaw, it became a Meganium when the three evolved at the same time. It teamed up with the other starters to defeat Guile's Kyogre in the end of the Emerald arc.
