This is a list of all key items that are found in Generation II. Please note that several of these appear in multiple generations.

Basement Key

• Purpose: Allows the player to access the basement of the Goldenrod Underground.
• Description:
• Location: Jhoto radio tower during rocket take-over. (Pokémon Crystal)

Bicycle

• Purpose: Use to move faster than walking.
• Description:
• Location: Goldenrod City

Blue Card

• Purpose: Allows player to answer daily question on Buena's show every evening to get points exchangable for items
• Description:
• Location: Johto Radio Tower.*

Card Key

• Purpose: Opens doors in the Johto Radio Tower.
• Description:
• Location: Johto Radio Tower

Clear Bell

• Purpose: Summons Suicune at Tin Tower in Ecruteak City
• Description:
• Location: Johto Radio Tower.*

Coin Case

• Purpose: Holds up to 9999 coins for use at the Rocket Game Corner or Goldenrod Game Corner.
• Description:
• Location: Goldenrod City

Good Rod

• Purpose: Allows the player to fish in bodies of water. Better than the Old Rod.
• Description:
• Location: Olivine City

GS Ball

• Purpose: Allows the player to encounter Celebi in Ilex Forest.
• Description:
• Location: Nintendo Event*

Itemfinder

• Purpose: Locates items hidden on the ground.
• Description:
• Location: Ecruteak City

Lost Item

• Purpose: Return to the Copycat for a Pass for the Magnet Train.
• Description:
• Location: Vermilion City

Machine Part

• Purpose: Take to the Power Plant to restore power to the Magnet Train.
• Description:
• Location: Cerulean Gym

Mystery Egg

• Purpose: Take to Professor Elm to study.
• Description:
• Location: Route 30

Old Rod

• Purpose: Allows the player to fish in bodies of water.
• Description:
• Location: Route 32

Pass

• Purpose: Allows the player to ride the Magnet Train between Saffron City and Goldenrod City.
• Description:
• Location: Saffron City

Rainbow Wing

• Purpose: Allows the player to encounter Ho-Oh in the Tin Tower.
• Description:
• Location: Johto Radio Tower/Pewter City

Red Scale

• Purpose: Take to Mr. Pokémon and exchange for an Exp. Share.
• Description:
• Location: Lake of Rage

SecretPotion

• Purpose: Take to Jasmine to help her heal Amphy.
• Description:
• Location: Cianwood City

Silver Wing

• Purpose: Allows the player to encounter Lugia in the Whirl Islands.
• Description:
• Location: Johto Radio Tower/Pewter City

Squirtbottle

• Purpose: Allows the player to pass Sudowoodo.
• Description:
• Location: Goldenrod City

S.S. Ticket

• Purpose: Allows admission to the S.S. Aqua.
• Description:
• Location: New Bark Town

Super Rod

• Purpose: Allows the player to fish in bodies of water. Best Rod of all.
• Description:
• Location: Route 12
