Jessie's Woobat (Japanese: ムサシのコロモリ Musashi's Koromori) is the first Pokémon that Jessie captured in the Unova region.

History

In Enter Iris and Axew!, while in a cave planning their next mission, a group of Woobat were flying through the cave Team Rocket was in. Jessie captured one off-screen, as was revealed when Jessie called it out to battle Ash's newly captured Pidove. It was able to defeat the Tiny Pigeon Pokémon with a single Air Slash. It was then defeated by Oshawott's Water Gun after it had worn Pikachu and Axew out.

Woobat appeared again in Dreams by the Yard Full!, where it used Gust in order to create a cloud of sand to allow Team Rocket to escape.

In BW029, Woobat was used along with James's Yamask, Ash's Pikachu and Oshawott, and Cilan's Dwebble to battle the four Litwick and the their leader, Lampent.

It was also used to battle Amy's Druddigon and Iris's Axew with James's Yamask in BW030 it was defeated by Ash's Pikachu's Electro Ball and Axew's Dragon Rage.

Trivia

Woobat's first appearance
  • Woobat shares some similarities with several Pokémon who belong to main characters.
    • Woobat, along with Brock's Crobat during its time as a Zubat, are based on bats, were seen inside a cave in a group of their own species, were later captured sometime off-screen by a main character, were captured early in their respective story arcs, and have similar English names. Also, both of their evolutionary lines require happiness to evolve at least once.
    • Woobat shares its voice actor with Jessie's Yanmega, one of its predecessors.
    • Woobat seems to be a replacement to Jessie's Seviper, as Jessie uses it to create a gust-storm to shroud Team Rocket's escape, much like Seviper used Haze.
