After Liko catches Liko, she, Roy, and Friede arrive at the entrance to the Galar Mine, where Liko notices her new friend trembling in her hood. This leads the group to think that Hatenna must be reacting to the Black Rayquaza's feelings. As Dot finishes up her Nidothing video on Slurpuff Cotton Candy, Murdock hands donuts to Orla and Mollie, the former fawning over ship parts she got from Motostoke. They get a message from Liko about how she and Hatenna became good friends.

As Liko and the group delve into the mine, they notice some Pokémon living there fleeing from something. Looking at the glowing rocks on the walls, Friede explains that this must be part of Rayquaza's diet of floating bits of dust and meteorites falling to Earth. However, Liko and Roy run off during his explanation and can't find their way back to him. Friede calls Liko and tells her to stay put with Roy as he and Captain Pikachu split up to look for the kids. However, upon hearing a mysterious cry, Liko and Roy go to find where it is coming from thinking it is Rayquaza. They point their attention to a high ledge, which Liko checks, but to no avail. As they continue their search, Sprigatito gets startled by a Woobat, who flies away. Liko and Roy find the Woobat hiding in a hole with a Timburr and Roggenrola. Liko, noticing how scared they are, offers them some of Murdock’s cookies, encouraging Hatenna to join them too.

Just then, Liko and Roy hear the mysterious cry from before, which scares the wild Pokémon away and makes Hatenna tremble again. Liko and Roy follow Woobat to a settlement where some workers and their Pokémon have lost their stamina. One of them tells Liko and Roy that it was because of a giant Pokémon. As Cap searches for the kids, he sees a dark aura looming above. After Liko calls the Pokémon Center to have the workers and their Pokémon treated, Liko and Roy decide to meet up with Friede, who finds strange claw marks in the cave wall. However, Liko and Roy are confronted by Zirc and Onia, while Friede is confronted by Amethio.

Onia commands Golduck to use Scratch on Sprigatito, but Cap blows it to a nearby chasm with Thunder Punch, having found Liko and Roy. Just then, Liko's pendant starts to glow as the mysterious cry from before echoes through the mine once again. Suddenly, a Galarian Moltres bursts from the chasm, stunning everyone and making Hatenna tremble. As Friede and Amethio prepare to battle, Roy scans Moltres with his Rotom Phone, but it has no data on the category. Liko points to its talon, which is holding an Poké Ball. Moltres unleashes Air Slash, which Cap deflects. However, Golduck and Rhydon receive heavy damage, forcing Onia and Zirc to recall them back into their Poké Balls and make a retreat. Moltres unleashes its Fiery Wrath, draining Cap and the others of their stamina, which Liko figures out is what happened to the workers from before. Cap dodges Moltres's Wing Attack before pushing Sprigatito out of the way of a second Wing Attack, taking the hit from the attack as well as its following Air Slash.

Amethio's Ceruledge overwhelms Friede and Charizard with Phantom Force until Charizard lands a hit with Dragon Claw when the Fire Blades Pokémon strikes again. However, Ceruledge's Weak Armor Ability activates, leaving Charizard vulnerable to a fast-hitting Night Slash. Meanwhile, Roy and Roy's determination to keep fighting overpowers the effects of Moltres's aura. Moltres uses Hurricane to deflect Fuecoco's Flamethrower and catch it in the tornado. Cap saves Fuecoco before Moltres launches another Air Slash at Roy, which Cap blocks with Thunder Punch. However, Cap receives heavy damage. Liko and Hatenna sense Moltres's rage, which starts to collapse the mine. Knowing what will happen if they stay here, Liko's resolve to get her friends to safety overpowers the effects of Moltres's aura. Roy is shaken with fear by the sheer power of Moltres before Liko snaps him out of it. They use a mine cart to make their getaway, with Moltres hot on their tail.

As Ceruledge and Charizard continue their struggle, Friede and Amethio notice Liko and Roy fleeing on the mine cart and are shocked at the sight of Moltres coming out as well. Charizard uses Flamethrower to save the kids from Moltres as Friede tells them to take care of Cap. An enraged Moltres then confronts Friede and Amethio as Liko and Roy flee from the mine.

Plot

After Liko catches Hatenna, she, Roy, and Friede arrive at the entrance to the Galar Mine, where Liko notices her new friend trembling in her hood.

They point their attention to a high ledge, which Sprigatito checks, but to no avail.

Galarian Moltres appearing

Onia commands Golduck to use Scratch on Sprigatito, but Cap blows it to a nearby chasm with Thunder Punch, having found Liko and Roy. Just then, Liko's pendant starts to glow as the mysterious cry from before echoes through the mine once again. Suddenly, a Galarian Moltres bursts from the chasm, stunning everyone and making Hatenna tremble. As Friede and Amethio prepare to battle, Roy scans Moltres with his Rotom Phone, but it has no data on the Malevolent Pokémon. Liko points to its talon, which is holding an Ancient Poké Ball.

Meanwhile, Roy and Fuecoco's determination to keep fighting overpowers the effects of Moltres's aura.
