Experience-affecting items are items that affect the amount of experience that a Pokémon gains in battle. There are three different experience-affecting items. They are, chronologically by their introduction, Exp. All, Exp. Share, and Lucky Egg.

Trivia

  • In Generation II, if a Pokémon with the same original Trainer as the player is sent into battle with Exp. Share attached, that Pokémon will gain double the normal experience points. For example, defeating a wild level 21 Tentacool will give a total of 312 experience points instead of 156.
