The Aquapolis print includes a Dot Code strip for use with the e-Reader, and has the card ID D-44-#. The short strip contains a brief card summary. There is no long strip for this card.

EX Series

Energy Switch was reprinted in the EX Ruby & Sapphire expansion with new artwork by Ken Ikuji, first released in the Japanese Mudkip Constructed Starter Deck. This print was later included in the EX FireRed & LeafGreen, EX Unseen Forces, and EX Power Keepers expansions. In Japan, this print was included in the Movie Commemoration VS Pack, as a possible card in the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise Random Constructed Starter Decks, the Movie Commemoration VS Pack: Sky-Splitting Deoxys, the Deoxys Half Deck of the Gift Box Emerald, the Typhlosion Constructed Starter Deck, the Bulbasaur Quarter Deck of the Master Kit, and in the Crawdaunt Quarter Deck of the Gift Box Mew • Lucario.

Diamond & Pearl Series

It was reprinted in the Diamond & Pearl expansion with new artwork by Ryo Ueda, first released in the Empoleon Half Deck of the Japanese Entry Pack. This print was later included in the Stormfront expansion. In Japan, it was reprinted in the Space-Time Creation expansion, the World Champions Pack expansion using the EX Series card layout, in both half decks of the Magmortar vs Electivire Deck Kit, in the Empoleon Half Deck of the Entry Pack '08, in the Heatran Half Deck of the Heatran vs Regigigas Deck Kit, in the Giratina Half Deck of the Giratina vs Dialga Deck Kit, in the Palkia Half Deck of the Entry Pack DPt, and in the Garchomp Half Deck of the Garchomp vs Charizard SP Deck Kit.

HeartGold & SoulSilver Series

Energy Switch was reprinted again in the HeartGold & SoulSilver expansion with different artwork by Wataru Kawahara, first released in the Japanese HeartGold Collection. It was also included in the HS Trainer Kit. The Japanese release of this print was reclassified as an Item card, but prints outside Japan did not adopt this until the Black & White Series.

Black & White Series

The print from the Black & White expansion featured new artwork by Kent Kanetsuna and originated from the Oshawott Half Deck of the Japanese Beginning Set and Beginning Set for Girls. This print was later included in the Excadrill Half Deck of the Black & White Trainer Kit, as well as the Legendary Treasures expansion. In Japan, it was reprinted in the Oshawott Half Deck of the Beginning Set + and Beginning Set Pikachu Version, in addition to the Genesect Half Deck of the Mewtwo vs Genesect Deck Kit.

XY Series

Energy Switch was reprinted again in the Furious Fists expansion with new artwork by 5ban Graphics, first released as one of several Japanese XY-P Promotional cards that became available in a number of different card boxes. These included the Xerneas & Yveltal Card Box, released on December 13, 2013, the Primal Groudon & Primal Kyogre Card Box, released on December 13, 2014, and the Mega Mewtwo X & Mega Mewtwo Y Card Box, released on September 26, 2015. The Japanese Emerald Break expansion included a Secret print of Energy Switch, which was later included in the Roaring Skies expansion. The Furious Fists print was subsequently released as part of the Generations expansion and in the Japanese BREAK Starter Pack.

Sun & Moon Series

During the Sun & Moon Series, Energy Switch was reprinted with new artwork by Ryo Ueda. It was included in the Sun & Moon expansion, first released in the Japanese Sun & Moon Starter Set. It was reprinted in the Celestial Storm expansion, first released in the Japanese Champion Road subset with the artwork by Ken Ikuji originally printed in the EX Ruby & Sapphire expansion. In Japan, the Sun & Moon print was later reprinted in the Thunderclap Spark subset, in two of the GX Starter Decks, in the Tag Team GX Premium Trainer Box, and in the Remix Bout subset.

Sword & Shield Series

Energy Switch was reprinted again during the Sword & Shield Series as part of the Sword & Shield expansion, first released in the Japanese V Starter Set Water. This print has new artwork by Toyste Beach. In Japan, it was reprinted in the Sword & Shield Premium Trainer Box, the Psychic Mew V Deck, the Start Deck 100 (available in both Non Holofoil and Mirror Holofoil versions), and as a Mirror Holofoil in the Charizard VSTAR vs Rayquaza VMAX Special Deck Set.
