Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社バンダイナムコエンターテインメント) is a Japanese publisher based in Tokyo. It has its own game development studio known as Bandai Namco Studios Inc.. Its current CEO is Satoshi Oshita.
The company was founded in 2006, following the merger of Namco and Bandai. Namco, formed in 1955, is well known for their arcade games, particularly with their earlier titles with Pac-Man, Galaxian, Dig Dug, and The Tower of Druaga. Namco would later produce Tekken, Tales, and Soulcalibur. Bandai, formed in 1950, is well known for producing toys, and had developed video games based on licensed properties. They were also widely known for their digital pet franchises Tamagotchi and Digimon.
