Donphan (Japanese: ドンファン Donfan) was the sixth Pokémon caught by Ash during his travels through Johto.
Ash received a Phanpy egg in the episode Extreme Pokémon! after after he won a competition hosted by a couple in the business of breeding Pokémon. Ash cared for it until it hatched in the episode Hatching a Plan!. At first, the newly-hatched Pokémon was sad and felt that nobody cared about him and was overlooked but after a little time with the other Pokémon, it became one of the team.
