A Newscaster (Japanese: ニュースキャスター Newscaster)is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation III games, appearing in Pokémon Colosseum and the Generation IV games. The newscaster generally has a cameraman with her, and a double battle against the newscaster and the cameraman ensues. Often, any battles against her will be described on TV, with the cameraman apparently showing footage he caught.

In Colosseum, Newscasters could only be battled in Colosseums, and the only one with a name was Ancha, who appeared at the very end of the game at the battle with Fein. In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Ancha now works for ONBS, and Newscasters can be found at Mt. Battle.

A Newscaster from XD.
