Sacred Fire is a slightly inaccurate and very damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II. The only natural wielder of this move is Ho-Oh. Unlike most moves that can cause status problems, this move has a 50% chance of burning the opponent, as opposed to the usual 10%-30%.
Effect
Sacred Fire will, if the user is frozen, heal its condition, and then do damage to the opponent. It is one of only two moves to do so, the other being Flame Wheel. It also has a 50% chance of burning the opponent.
In the anime
In All Things Bright and Beautifly, Jessie learned that Sacred Fire is a really good move to use in the appeal round of a Pokémon Contest. She tried to get her Seviper to use it on stage but this naturally failed.
