Metal Coat is a held item. It will increase the damage done by Steel-type moves by 10%. If Onix or Scyther are holding the item when traded, they will evolve into Steelix and Scizor respectivley.
It is received as a reward in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal by finding the Captain of the S.S. Anne's daughter.
