Along with the main time trial battles, a practice match is available for players to play as many times as they want, with the battle being the same as the Very Hard difficulty for the main event. This event ran from May 10 to June 2, 2023. During this event, there were no bonuses to stats or points. Unlike other time trial events, this event featured battles against named characters with non-generic designs, the [[island kahuna]]s.
Event missions awarded players with {{mas|Gem}}s and Skill Spheres for completing the time trial using sync pairs with specific [[File:Theme skill icon type.png|20px]] type [[theme skill]]s. Missions were added over the first five days of its duration:

Time trial events[note 1] (Japanese: タイムアタックイベント Time Attack Event) are a type of limited-time event in Pokémon Masters EX. These challenge players to complete battles in a short amount of time; players are graded and awarded points according to how long they take to win a battle, and they earn event rewards by reaching point milestones.

Format

The first two time trial events consisted of two types of battles: three main time trial battles and a practice match. Players were granted three attempts per day to clear any of the main time trial battles; any unused attempts were rolled over to subsequent days.

The practice match was available for players to play as many times as they want, with the battle being the same as the Very Hard difficulty for the main time trial battles. The practice match did not consume attempts or stamina, and while it did not award any points, medals could be earned the same as in the Very Hard main time trial battle.

In addition, bonuses were granted to the stats of certain sync pairs who participated in event battles and the points awarded upon completing a battle with those sync pairs on the team.

However, starting with the third time trial event, the format was significantly altered. Only one or two battles were available, which could be challenged as many times as the player wanted. This battle did not consume stamina, and it awarded points on completion. However, no sync pairs received bonuses to stats or points.

This event ran from June 6 to 13, 2022. Unlike the previous time trial events, there were no bonuses to stats or points. In addition, there were no battle areas with limited daily attempts; players could take on the Speed Challenge as many times as they wanted per day.

Event missions awarded players with Gems and Skill Spheres for completing the time trial using sync pairs with specific Theme skill icon region.png region, Theme skill icon Trainer group.png Trainer group, or Theme skill icon other.png other theme skills. Missions were added over the first five days of its duration:

  • Missions 1-5 were available from the start.
  • Missions 6-8 were added on the second day (June 7, 2022).
  • Missions 9-11 were added on the third day (June 8, 2022).
  • Missions 12-14 were added on the fourth day (June 9, 2022).

Top Speed (2023)

This event ran from May 10 to June 2, 2023. During this event, there were no bonuses to stats or points. Unlike other time trial events, this event featured battles against named characters with non-generic designs, the island kahunas.

Event missions awarded players with Gems and Skill Spheres for completing the time trial using sync pairs with specific Theme skill icon type.png type theme skills. Missions were added over the first five days of its duration:

  • Missions 1-7 were available from the start.
  • Missions 8-11 were added on the second day (May 11, 2023).
  • Missions 12-15 were added on the third day (May 12, 2023).
  • Missions 16-19 were added on the fourth day (May 13, 2023).
  • Missions 20-23 were added on the fifth day (May 14, 2023).

The event reran from December 4 to 18, 2023, alongside the villain events Investigate the Foundation and People Protecting Pokémon. Mission 2 was changed to award 50 Gems instead of 100. Everything else was the same as the previous run, including missions being added over the first five days of its duration.
