A Ruin Maniac (Japanese: いせきマニア Ruin Maniac) is a type of Pokémon trainer that first debuted in the Generation III games. They are often depicted as stereotypical explorers, in Generation III as old men in safari outfits and pith helmets, and in Generation IV in a fedora and jacket, similar to Indiana Jones.

They can usually be seen near any archaeological sites containing rare Pokémon or events. One such trainer proposed a contest between and the player and himself at who can be faster: the player catching 26 Unown or the Ruin Maniac digging through the Maniac Tunnel.

They generally use Template:Type2 Pokémon, but the majority use Sandshrew and Sandslash.
