Simon's father (Japanese: ラングの父 Lang's father) is a character of the day who appeared in The Poké Spokesman. His only appearance in the episode was in Simon's flashback.
When Simon was young, he was rescued by his father when a tornado struck their homeland. Simon's father put his son in the basement for his own safety as he went to check on the neighbors. During Simon's time in the cellar, he discovered he had the ability to speak to Pokémon. After the storm stopped, Simon's father retrieved his son from the storm cellar. While the pair were uninjured in the natural disaster, their farmhouse was devastated by the strong winds.
