Guide completion
Does anyone know when the other parts of this guide will be complete (pokemon brilliant diamond/shining pearl)? Srg909 (talk) 23:57, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- Our walkthrough pages are created on a volunteer basis. Minibug (talk) 00:03, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
- I've filled most of the sections while replaying through the game. Most of the work is actually limited to gathering information from existing wiki pages, while double checking information while playing the game.
- There are a lot of improvements that could be made though, including:
- Images/maps
- I actually used the existing gen 4 maps to orient myself, but it didn't feel right to include them in the remake walkthrough)
- More text
- I mostly included significant amount of text for navigating the more complex "dungeons" like victory road, mount coronet, galactic HQ, stark mountain
- This is particularly noticeable towards the end as I grew tired of BDSP :-)
- Improved styling/layout, particularly regarding the lists of wild pokemon/trainers/items in caves with several levels
- More information regarding battle tower and contests (I haven't really engaged with those myself)
- Better structure
- I changed the initial section structure for the post-game, and tried to combine sections as some felt quite empty.
- Maybe there could also be some sections merged together in the pre-credit sections too.
- I noticed after finishing all the post-game exploration that the elite 4 has two different rematches
- => there should have been a section about the elite 4 rematch after unlocking the national pokedex
- I am not really happy with the grand underground parts
- I was not sure how to write these parts and initially considered skipping them
- I followed the originally drafted structure that lists the new types of cave unlocked reaching a certain geographical area
- If I had to do it again, I would consider having instead a grand underground section every time a new set of Pokémon are unlocked, either through a new type of cave available due to geographical progression, or through unlocking a badge or TM that unlocks new spawns in a previously visited cave
- I also think that a potential better alternative would be to scrape all the grand underground content from the walkthrough, have instead a single grand underground guide with a section each time new Pokémon are unlocked, and have references from the general walkthrough to the grand underground walkthrough
- The sections are also entirely focused on Pokémon and do not mention which items are available in which caves
- Having a map to support the grand underground walkthrough would help a lot (and should be a lot easier to make than maps of the 3D overworld)
- Someone to play the game while following the walkthrough to ensure I didn't make mistakes (found a few myself, but I'd be surprised if there aren't more ;-))
