Side Mission 041: Watch Out for Traps
Talk to the trainer to start the battle. She has a level 36 Onix, Camerupt, and a level 37 Garbodor. If you are struggling to clear all of the traps, try to use ranged attacks from a distance. If you have hit Research Level 29, then Surf is a great move for this fight. Once you have defeated her you’ll earn $1300, TM088 Spikes, and 5 x Super Potion.
Side Mission 042: A Fan Of Fairy Types
Another battling Side Mission. Talk to the woman sitting at the café to start the battle. Fairy-types are very strong, but unfortunately she has chosen all unevolved Pokémon. She has a level 36 Cleffa, Swirlix, Spritzee, which are hopefully easy enough to dispatch at this point in the game. She will give you $2400, and a Fairy Feather as a reward.
Side Mission 043: A Big Weedle Problem
The Alpha Weedle will initiate battle as soon as you approach it. Not only is it an Alpha Pokémon but it likely out levels you at level 45. After you defeat it you will have a chance to catch it. If you fail the catch you will need to battle it all over again.
After you catch the Weedle you can choose to keep it or to give it to the quest giver. If you let him keep the Weedle you will see it in the overworld and you can visit it. Either way he will give you $1500, 5 x Sitrus Berry, 5 x Hondew Berry, and 5 x Rindo Berry for finishing his mission.
Side Mission 044: Vanillite’s Fragrant Snow
You can find Vanillite commonly in Wild Zone 7 and Wild Zone 12. Put Vanillite in your party and speak to Odette again. Once she’s given it a sniff, she’ll reward you with $2500, a Leaf Stone and 3 x Quiet Mint.
Side Mission 045: On Maintenance Duty
Find the mechanic something to drink. If you’ve been completing Side Missions then you should have a Lemonade, Soda Pop, or Fresh Water to give to him. You can also buy drinks at some of the restaurants. When you complete the quest the Holovator will turn on and you’ll receive $800, a Serious Mint and 10 x Chilan Berry.
Side Mission 046: Pidgeot Soaring High
Talk to the trainer to initiate the battle with the Pidgey line. He has a level 42 Pidgey and Pidgeotto, and a level 43 Pidgeot. You will be rewarded with $2600, TM090 Fly, and 5 x Repeat Ball for winning.
Side Mission 047: Becoming a Furfrou Trimmer
You need a Pokémon with the move Slash and to have mastered it as a Plus move. Then instruct it to use the move on the nearby Substitute doll. This will open the Furfrou Salon so you can change its hairstyles. You’ll also earn $800, a Revive and 3 x Exp. Candy S.
Side Mission 048: All Tied Up
Hit the cocoon with a move with a base power of 100 or more. Only the base power matters, the Pokémon’s strength or typing is irrelevant. These are fairly rare but we used Dynamic Punch. As a thank you for getting him down you’ll receive $1500 and 10 x Net Ball.
Side Mission 049: Hit and Heal
Talk to the woman again to start the battle. She has a level 43 Ariados and Phantump, and a level 44 Roselia. All of them have draining moves like Horn Leech, Absorb and Leech Life so they can take some time to beat them. They even have Big Root attached to heal even more HP. For your win, you’ll be rewarded with $1500, a Big Root and 10 x Sitrus Berry.
Side Mission 050: Just a Few Questions for You…
It doesn’t matter how you answer her questions, the police officer will challenge you to a battle. She has a level 40 Manectric and Lucario. For finishing the mission you’ll receive $2000 and 3 x Lax Mint. Sadly, the Goomy returns to its real owner.
Side Mission 051: Floette Frolicking with Flowers
Talk to Vivace to start the battle. All five Floette attack at once so it’s best to lure some away from the others. However, Floette isn’t that strong so it shouldn’t be too difficult. For completing the mission nine pastel hair colours will be added to the salon, and you’ll receive $2500 and 2 x Rare Candy.
Side Mission 052: Numel Frozen Solid
Hit the Numel frozen in the block of ice in Wild Zone 12 with a Fire-type move of at least 95 base power. We used Heat Wave. Once you release Numel from its icy grip you'll receive $900, 3 x Ice Heal and 2 x Exp. Candy M.
Side Mission 053: The Most Electrifying Eelektrik
Talk to him to initiate the battle. He has three level 44 Eelektrik. You’ll receive $1800, a Thunder Stone and a Calcium for winning.
Side Mission 054: Get ENERGIZED!
Talk to Roco to fight him. He has a level 44 Beedrill, Sharpedo, and Scyther all with Focus Energy and high-crit moves. You receive $3000, a Scope Lens and 3 x Ultra Ball for defeating him.
Side Mission 055: Carvanha, Menace of the Deep!
For this one you will need a Carvanha. They are very common in Wild Zone 10. Put the Carvanha in your party and talk to the director. As a reward you'll receive $1800, 3 x Dive Ball, and 2 x Exp. Candy M.
Side Mission 056: We Muscle Our Way Through!
You need to attack the Holovator with a physical Fighting-type move like Brick Break or Power-Up Punch. For completing the mission not only will the Holovator be back in service, but you'll receive $900 and a Muscle Band.
Side Mission 057: The Camerupt Entrepreneur
Follow the man into the sewers, you can find him via the stairs behind Café Woof, or via the waterways exit in Wild Zone 5. You can find his exact location in the sewers by turning on guidance. When you arrive he will want to battle. He has a level 46 Camerupt. After you defeat him you’ll receive $4500, a Fire Stone, and a Charcoal as a reward. While you’re down here, we also recommend picking up a new Pokémon, Litwick
Side Mission 058: Better to Detect Than to Protect
Talk to the woman in order to start the battle. She has a level 45 Riolu and Machoke and a level 46 Medicham. They all use Detect on the first turn in battle. For winning you'll receive $1500, a Black Belt and 3 x Exp. Candy M.
Side Mission 059: A Rematch with Hawlucha!
Speak to Hawlucha to start the battle. It's level 45. You'll receive $2500, a Focus Sash, and 5 x Coba Berry for winning.
Side Mission 060: Full Course of Battles: Two Stars
Talk to the front of house and accept the challenge to take on five matches in a row. This one features 15 Pokémon at level 45 and you cannot heal between or during fights making it very tricky. Here are all the trainers and Pokémon that you’ll face:
- Talia: Pidgeot, Altaria and Talonflame.
- Georges: Onix, Barbaracle and Aggron.
- Michelle: Roselia, Victreebel and Abomasnow. (This one is particularly difficult as she sets up several layers of Toxic Spikes.)
- Adeline: Delibird, Avalugg and Glalie.
- Yannick: Alakazam, Slowbro and Gallade.
For defeating this gauntlet you’ll receive $1000, TM094 Whirlwind, a Calcium and a Zinc.
