Generation V yield
How exactly do you plan on obtaining this information? It's a bit too late to try and find out, since the Dream World's been closed for almost four months. --Abcboy (talk) 04:01, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- I don't. But since DW is closed, it's not exactly hurting anyone that we're missing that information...
- I just searched a bit, and I don't see any reliable/generic information on DW yield out there. The best we may be able to hope for is if someone remembers that the yield was the same as for Gen IV or something. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:08, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- A person posting on GameFAQs actually seems to suggest that any Berry can have a maximum yield of 5. But that's only one person, and I just find it hard to believe it might be 5 max for all Berries. So I can't trust that myself, but if another person could back that up and/or say that even Berries like Razz, Cornn, and Spelon (that previously had high yields) had a max of 5, I might be willing to accept it. Potential splitting into multiple, more complete tables
If the table were split into several, separate tables, it could then include more information on each generation. For example, gen III could list the minimum yield and the maximum yield for watering in 1, 2, 3 and 4 stages, as these are simple, fixed constants, gen IV could list the drying rate and all generations could separate the minimum and maximum yield columns, which would allow sorting by maximum yield, which is currently impossible. Adding the blending (maximum contribution and flavour only for III, and data for the probability of getting a + block in VI), berry powder, poffin and juice (colour, yield) data to each generation's table would make this a complete page of all berry stats, maximising its utility (since players may want to know about the fastest way to generate berry powder, make a poffin with certain criteria the fastest or the quickest growth strategy for ORAS berries for Pokéblock effects). - I see the logic. But I tend to think it just becomes too much. (The one thing I /have/ felt might still belong here is the Gen IV drying rate, but I kind of figured that's just complicated enough to comprehend that it'll be better to just let people look at the Berry page.) For the most part, I feel it's generally best to concentrate on strongly related stats rather than try to throw everything together no matter how disparate some of the stats might be. And I think that works just fine for most people; while conversely, I think putting everything together is likely to only be really useful to a small number of people while otherwise appearing crowded or messy.
- For stages/discrete watering yields in particular, getting that detailed would basically mean you're getting repetitive for questionable gain (let's just say, anyone dedicated enough to keep track with larger amounts of watering is probably also dedicated enough to not really need those discrete yields spelled out). The display would also be uneven, since the number of times you can water something at least varies with the growth time. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:18, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
