James's
Just to let you know, s's is preferred over s', just to be consistent with his Pokemon article. It is also like this since "James's" makes using the TP template easier to use. As for grammar, both "s's" and "s'" is correct, but we prefer the former for the reasons I've stated.--ForceFire 05:22, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- For the record, technically cause is also correct, as an informal abbreviation, but we spell because. But, hey, if a select group of people or induviduals wants to disagree with the majority of grammar guides; who am I to argue. --Theh5 (talk) 11:04, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- "Cause" is informal, as you said, so we don't use it. S's isn't grammatically incorrect, it's just as valid as s'. We use s's because the TP template is coded in a way that we have to use s's.--ForceFire 11:51, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- It makes more sense, grammatically speaking, to omit the second S. In some cases; the second S can confuse a possessive meaning of a plural word with a non-possessive one, due to pronunciation similarities, I can't remember one of the usual scenarios where I usually find this conflicting so I can't give an example currently, though. --Theh5 (talk) 08:29, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
