Hi

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Instead of editing the userspace, as a wiki, we encourage users to edit the mainspace. So, if you edit the mainspace more often, you will be allowed to edit the userspace more. Thanks! --PsychicRider 02:24, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Hold on!

If you did not read your last warning, then please read it now. You have edited the User: namespace too much. Please do not edit your page any more for now. Thank you. --PsychicRider 02:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

For pictures...

You do not need to put the entire URL into an image link, just the file name. For instance, [[Image:001.png]] should bring up 001.png. Even better, use the {{Spr}} template to add sprite images to the page. And most importantly, preview the page before saving to avoid making too many edits. I hope this helps! --RiverAura 02:31, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Stop.

Do not edit the User: namespace any more. In the past, we were not allowed to edit our pages at all because of users over-editing their pages. If you edit your page any more without making some edits to the mainspace, then the privilege for you to edit the userspace will be removed. --PsychicRider 02:40, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Are we done yelling at me? I finished the page. - unsigned comment from Ryuutakeshi (talkcontribs)
I'm done as soon as you're done...so I guess we're both done then...Oh yeah, also sign your username with this :~~~~. Thank you. --PsychicRider 02:47, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
eh, yeah, I just now figured out how to do that. --Ryuutakeshi 02:47, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
and now youre really done, for blatantly showing no interest in following the rules, youve been locked out of editing your userpage. prove to us you know how to follow the rules and edit properly, and well give you those privileges back. -- MAGNEDETH 02:49, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
okay. I'm not real big on editing anyways so... it might take a while. And once again, I forget to sign. --Ryuutakeshi 02:54, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
well then theres no point for that fancy userpage of yours, perhaps well just remove it until you earn it? -- MAGNEDETH 02:56, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
eh, if you think you should. Frankly, I don't understand what the issue is. Perhaps someone could explain it instead of putting me in lockout? Dang it I keep forgetting to sign. --Ryuutakeshi 06:08, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, all of the editors on Bulbapedia focused on editing their userpages instead of editing the encyclopedic content. Not only was that fairly stupid - I mean, this is an encyclopedia after all - it put a lot of stress on the server. This meant that people who didn't abuse the userspace had trouble editing, even reading, the articles. So now there is a policy in place that says you can't do it too much. As you have said that's all you want to do, we've stopped you from hurting our servers. Any questions? —darklordtrom 06:14, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Let me get this straight. Me putting a few graphics and some text in a page with practically nothing on it, is going to put stress on an online encyclopedia with thousands of images and text that has thousands of people on it every day? I'm sorry but I think I'm missing something in this. --Ryuutakeshi 06:18, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
They are mainspace pages and are actually useful to people. Your userpage isn't however... True, it may put more stress on the server, but your edits to your own personal stuff is unneeded stress. --ケンジガール 06:21, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
wouldn't all the discussion we're having here have the same effect? --Ryuutakeshi 06:23, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes. But there wouldn't be one if you just followed the rules... --ケンジガール 06:25, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
So... you are also falling into the same thing I apparently did, because you guys are the ones who kept spamming me messages saying stop editing. And then continuously editing after the "crisis" was averted. --Ryuutakeshi 06:28, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Alright

Seriously, here's the thing. You edited your userpage 16 times over the course of 24 minutes. You've in turn edited only one mainspace page, all the way back in March, then the talkspace six times a week ago (and once more two weeks and a day before).

This is about your lack of contribution to the wiki itself. A userpage is meant to be your reward for assisting with the project, to tell all about yourself that you want so people can get to know you better as you edit. You don't sign, you don't get links to it. You don't edit, you never appear in the RC and no one knows or cares who you are.

Not to toot my own horn too much, but look at how I've done things. My first edit was to my userpage. I was getting used to wikicode at that point. It was a test. It was basic. I edited it once. Then I went and made several mainspace edits. We'd just passed 3100 articles at that point. I didn't edit it again until I'd made more than thirty edits. Not even out of fear of those who ran BP at that time, but because adding information was the important part. My userpage? Feh, who cares. I wasn't here to make myself flashy, I was here to put information in.

Now, don't say "but the wiki has too much on it". Look, you like Silver, as you've noted. Soon we'll be unveiling a new party template, and guess who's gonna be among those who needs it. And that's not all; these days fixing up broken templates that we renew may be part of the work (mostly mine considering I make the new ones), but by far we need a lot more. Silver's part of Gen II, many of our Johto anime articles need synopses. Heck, many of our Sinnoh ones need them done well.

Look around. Add to the articles that need it. Improve the grammar of those which are crappy stubs. Add. Edit. And keep the facts straight... can't go putting Eevee evolves into Leafeon and Glaceon into game text that was written before Gen III even came out. TTEchidna 07:16, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Okay, now this is a much better response than what I got. All the facts and whatnot laid out. Thank you. I doubt I'll be actually editing anything in the near future, but still. So, yeah.--Ryuutakeshi 17:09, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Okay, look, I'm sorry. I've never actually done much editing on any wiki and I really don't know much about anything concerning it. I apologize for my attitude and for the fact I broke a few rules. I'm still a little bit confused about some of them (like, does it really matter whether I'm putting unneeded stress on now or later? It's still the same amount of stress) but I suppose that you guys actually know more about this than I do, since you guys are the ones who actually RUN this place. So... yeah.
Again, sorry. I'd love to help, but since I don't really know what I'm doing I doubt I'd be much use. I see you mentioned that anime episodes need synopses, and I wish I could help you there, since that is something I know I can do, but I don't watch the anime. But I'll try to find something worthwhile to do.
Did I mention I'm sorry? This whole thing is kinda making me feel pathetic. --Ryuutakeshi 17:25, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
While it doesn't really matter for the "server stress" issue as much now as it did a year and a half ago, considering our dual, beastly servers, it does help the wiki more to prevent userspace abuse. You should've seen the recent changes back in February of '08... Honestly this says it all. No one was touching the mainspace. At all. TTEchidna 04:14, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

And also don't sign when you forget to sign as it has the wrong timestamp. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 00:02, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I really need to remember this. --Ryuutakeshi 00:38, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Regarding this, please look at the date of the last comment next time. You just responded to something that is around two years old. Please make sure the last comment didn't either end the conversation, or was in the last few weeks or so. After that, they are normally dead. R.A. Hunter Blade 23:06, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

banned?

How did you get banned at the forums? I just noticed the striked name Mijzelffan 14:37, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

  • [1] Just listen. Chances are now a mod's going ot come through and yell at me again. This REALLY ruined my day. --Ryuutakeshi 06:47, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

One does not have a battle of wits with an opponent whose weapons are mere twigs. Find something stronger to fight with and perhaps we may trade blows. For now, I'll go enjoy a different sort of drama.--Ryuutakeshi 20:28, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Those "mere twigs" you speak of are official statements by the development team of the entire Pokemon series. They are something that could have been changed if Junichi Masuda mispoke. But they weren't changed. He meant what he said. He meant Motif. Not anything else.

...

Because the test forum is the only place someone can post now AND the fact when I tried to log in it wouldn't accept my username and password EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE 100% CORRECT, I'm posting on this talk page to say DO NOT have them switch to that new forum if I can't log in like that. My account IS on the test forum after I had to search through the threads for any of my posts, and I don't know why, but it's not letting me log in at all. Also I'd like to know why the failed login quote is only ONE instead of multiple chances to try again like every other site has it. THAT is the reason I'm posting here to complain about it.
