By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Dentula

I see that you have an image of merchandise that says Dentula on (what I assume is) your website, but where did this image come from? --SnorlaxMonster 11:37, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

The image initially came from an eBay auction, I just rehosted it to avoid leeching. The original URL is here [1] and another picture of the figure from an unrelated Yahoo! Japan auction is here, showing the same card insert [2] RacieB 13:12, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. I just didn't trust it coming straight from your own site (I hope you understand). --SnorlaxMonster 13:42, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah. Because RacieB doesn't have a private life and spends long hours on shopping screenshots of fake merchandise just to scam Bulbapedia into a fake romanization. --Maxim 13:47, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Beta information

If you're going to add any beta information, please provide a source, don't just say it. Show don't tell.--ForceFire 05:04, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

The source is the Pokémon Battle Revolution sound files, as I already said. Cries for gen 4 Pokémon use their development names, as demonstrated here: [3] You can see these if you extract the files from any PBR rom. RacieB (talk) 11:15, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
When he talks about sources, he talks about websites, news, something that can confirm the information. Like IGN, Gamespot or some game website.Hikaru Wazana (talk) 11:29, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
He needs "some game website" to confirm what anyone can see by extracting the ISO? RacieB (talk) 11:46, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
Do you have a source that they were the original names for those Pokemon, not that they were named that way in the internal files. They could just be placeholders, and not their actual beta names. Side note, do not just re-add the information, it falls under edit warring. So unless you can provide a source confirming that those are the beta names, do not re-add them.--ForceFire 11:56, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
They are also named this way in actual Diamond and Pearl prototypes but, since I know you're going to reject those as proof because "leaks", it's pretty convenient they exist in the final PBR files too, right? Otherwise, randomly and repeatedly deleting valid information that was found in the final release of a game, for no reason other than "Gamespot didn't say it first", is pretty much the definition of edit-warring. RacieB (talk) 12:12, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
I never said the source had to be Gamespot or other game websites. The preferable source in this case would be like an interview or a book that details beta stuff, not fans speculating. As for the leaks, you would be right in that we would reject that, until we feel it is safe to have that information on the site. So unless the staff say it's okay, you may not add the information onto the site.--ForceFire 12:18, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry to butt in, but just to clarify, the .brstm files of some species in the actual PBR game are named different to the final species name, right ([4])? Then it should be okay to relax the phrasing a little, like "In PBR, while Pokémon cries are usually internally referenced by the final species name, Giratina's cry is referenced by the name of キマイラン Kimairan instead, possibly indicating a beta name during development". Is everyone fine with that? Nescientist (talk) 12:39, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
