Talk Page Comments
Removing talk page comments, including the initial welcome template, is prohibited per Bulbapedia's talk page policy. Please do not remove any comments in the future. If you wish to clean old comments away, you should archive your talk page instead. Thank you! --—♥ Jellotalk 19:40, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
... But some other guys userpage doesnt have the welcome templates deleted!!!!! ITS NOT FAIR!--Polocatfan 19:57, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Dude, if you do not like the Welcome Template THAT much, all you need to do is archive your talk page, by moving it to "User talk:Polocatfan/Archive 1", or something of that nature. Lots of people don't have the Welcome Template on their Talk Pages because they did the same thing. Usually, most people archive their Talk Pages when it gets too long, but whatever. You do not need to whine about how it is not fair. Like Jello said, it is the rules around here. But before you do, I would READ all of the links that are in it, that way, you can know how things are done around here. I personally think it is really useful, and I learned so much from reading all of the links that are in it, and it answered a lot of the questions that I had about how to do stuff around here. But it is your Talk Page, so do what you want, I guess. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line on my Talk Page. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 20:17, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- It is the little Tab on the top of the page that says "Move". Move it to something like I suggested above. And don't forget to sign your comments, but if you do, don't go back and sign them. It messes things up when you do that, and it is unnecessary, as we can see who the comment is from, either from the RC or from the page history, and then add an {{subst:unsigned}} to it. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 20:35, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Just to add in, there is no reason to archive your talk page anyway. It should only be done when your talk page gets too big. If you're just doing this to get rid of the (helpful) welcome template then I would strongly advise against doing it right now. —♥ Jellotalk 20:37, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Ok I wont then--Polocatfan 20:41, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Your Userpage
The ability to edit the userspace is a privilege, which you can earn after you make a certain amount of mainspace edits, and also after you have been here for a certain amount of time. Now, I am Psychic, and I know what your next questions are going to be: "How many edits? How much time?" The truth is, they are automatically determined by the software. The reason that this policy was put in place was because, a long time ago (don't ask me how long, I don't know exactly, all I know is it was before my time), a bunch of different users were using Bulbapedia like a social networking site, meaning that they would only make enough mainspace edits to gain the ability to edit the userspace, and then they would spend all of their time editing their userpages, and not contributing to the mainspace at all. This caused an incredible amount of server strain, which led to the admins taking away the ability to edit the userspace for EVERYONE for a while, and when they gave the ability back, they instituted the current rules, among which are not edit your userspace* more than three times a day. After all Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia about Pokémon, so it is important to continue to contribute to the mainspace*. The best advice that I can give you is this: Lurk a little more, and find out what makes a good edit*. If you do get reverted, it is no big deal, almost everyone on here has got reverted at least once. Just be sure to bring it up on the article's talkpage, instead of starting an edit war. Also, the rule of thumb that I go by is: READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN, meaning, read EVERYTHING in your Welcome Box at the top of your talkpage*. You can also check out my Useful Links page here, which I put together in order to help out new users, as well as collect a lot of links that I use often all in one place. Then, when you feel comfortable, try looking at the list of wanted articles, or if you don't feel comfortable starting from scratch, you can try fixing some stub articles. Also, it is always a good thing to be familiar with the staff, and that list can be found here. They are generally really friendly and helpful individuals if you ask nicely. Finally, always remember the Golden Rule of the 'Pedia*. If you ever need anything, or are confused about anything, come drop me a line on my talkpage, and if I can't help you out, I will be sure to direct you to someone that can. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 21:34, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
