Hi

Me

My name is Chris and I come from England. I’ve been a fan of Pokémon now for nearly eight years and over that time I have owned all of the mainstream games as well as all the Stadiums, Colosseums and I now own PBR. My enjoyment started when I was at school in a Physics lesson. One of my mates was playing Pokémon Blue under the desk and he was seriously addicted to it, at lunch he let me have a look at it and bang I was hooked. The next day I went straight out and bought Pokémon Red. The rest is history.

I currently run a gym at the The IPGL, were always looking for challenges (so far no one has beat all 8 gyms - in fact a couple of gyms havent been beat at all) its run by a few of the people off here and everyone is welcome so if you really want a challenge, you know where we are (well - the link will direct you anyway!!)

My Game Rankings

Pokémon Red and Blue

The alpha Pokémon games - brilliant at there time but look dated now and have kind of been replaced by FireRed and LeafGreen. These are still the only games in which you can complete the National Pokédex with out any cheat devices.

Pokémon Yellow

Getting all three starter Pokémon from Red and Blue- Fantastic!! Improved graphics and a good take on the first season of the Anime.

Pokémon Gold and Silver

Second best, but only to the games improved version, Crystal. A huge step up from Generation I, which was also, in the scale of games in general, brilliant, & along with Crystal, the only games to date where it is possible to get 16 badges!!!

Pokémon Crystal

By far the best game released in my opinion. See comments on Gold and Silver its that and better.

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire

I was pretty disappointed in these games, I thought many of the new Pokémon introduced just did not stand out like those of the previous Generations, I thought Hoenn was rather rushed together and could have been a much more interesting & I also thought they left way to many Pokémon out at the time of release although FireRed and LeafGreen did help to fill that gap when they came out.

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen

Although there remakes I still rate them very high. Loads more to do than the originals and real improvement on the other Generation III games.

Pokémon Emerald

Ok - I won’t deny I was really not a fan of the Ruby and Sapphire Games, one of the reasons is because of the layout of Hoenn and that’s why Emerald suffers. I do think it is a major improvement on Ruby and Sapphire but it’s stuck in the same region which just lets it down.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl

These are, in many ways, the best game out, but in some ways it has also gone backwards. By the end of the Generation II there were some types that were just better because the certain Pokémon of those types were stronger than the Pokémon of other types. By the end of the Generation III I feel this gap had been closed somewhat but I thought Diamond and Pearl started to reverse this process - still one hell of a game mind.
