In Narrowing the Chaser Chase!, Gardevoir was Horace's choice to accompany him during his Project Mew trial mission at Sea Mauville, where they joined forces with Goh and his Inteleon, and battled against many Trainers, including Sterling's Vikavolt and Lyla's Liepard, where despite being struck early on with a sneak attack, Gardevoir and Inteleon managed to win. Subsequently, Horace and Gardevoir battled against Goh and Inteleon to decide the winner of the trial, in which Horace and Gardevoir emerged victorious.
In In the Palms of our Hands!, Horace selected Gardevoir to battle against Mew in a Raid Battle. Much like the previous Raid Battle, Gardevoir was used as a defense method for its allies, but they were all soundly defeated by the Legendary Pokémon.
Personality and characteristics
Gardevoir is a loyal Pokémon, not only to Horace, but also towards anyone it considers an ally, such as when Goh and Inteleon were being overwhelmed by Sterling and Lyla, Gardevoir was angry at being unable to help its allies. Gardevoir and Horace also seem to share quite a strong bond, as Gardevoir, despite being injured during their Trial Mission, assured Horace that it could still fight, being encouraged by the desire to assist its Trainer.
In terms of battling, Horace mostly utilizes Gardevoir for defensive properties, such as increasing its, or any allies's defenses, as well as using status moves to disorient their opponents. Nevertheless, Gardevoir is quite powerful, being able to help its allies during the battle against Articuno, and even managing to deal some measure of damage against the Legendary Pokémon.
