Samuel Nakaoka's Lunala is Samuel Nakaoka's first Pokemon of the Alola region as well the very first Starter Pokemon, which he got as a blessing from Tapu Koko known as Cosmog. It evolves into Cosmoem as he trains and plays with it, then into Lunala with the help of Tapu Koko and the guardian deities. Ten months later after the incidents of Mayi's rampage, Samuel Nakaoka left Lunala at his old home in order to protect his friends from Demonious' ambitions.

After evolving, Samuel Nakaoka's Lunala battle Lusamine's Clefable in the Alola's exhibition battle and lost despite being as the strongest Pokemon.
Lunala makes its debut in PR: XY Saga, surprising his brother Alexs Nakaoka by revealing that Samuel Nakaoka the Second owns the Legendary Pokèmon all along to battle against Team Rocket trio's Pokemon (Gourgeist and Inkay) and easily defeated them by using Phantom Force and Night Daze, then blast them off with Moongeist Beam. After the battle, Samuel Nakaoka recalls Lunala.
While Xerosic used Malamar to attempt to control Clemont again, Samuel Nakaoka call out Lunala again, this will shocks Ash, Lysandre, and the others. It easily defeats Malamar with its Z-Move: Black Hole Eclipse. Samuel Nakaoka recalls Lunala although Ash noticed Samuel Nakaoka's Poke Ball.
Lunala reappears again when Samuel Nakaoka sadly began to leave the Kalos Region and ready to return to his former home Alola Region by ordering his younger brother to not inform his friends about Samuel Nakaoka's whereabouts in order to prevent them from seeing him.

Personality and characteristics
Lunala is Samuel Nakaoka the Second's faithful very first partner and the strongest Pokémon of the Alola Region.
Lunala always listening its Trainer's commands to blast off Team Rocket trio in the Kalos region and defeat Xerosic's Malamar, but despite it obeys its Trainer, it became concerned when Samuel Nakaoka is still angry and saddened about Natalie's passing. However, it deeply cared at Samuel Nakaoka's feelings despite Samuel Nakaoka had done as his revenge.
