We all know of the new app for pokemon heart-gold and soul-silver, the Pokéwalker. but this article is not for learning what the Pokéwalker is, but how to get the absolute BEST out of it.

Main Pokéradar Tactics

ok, the first think you need to know about the Pokéwalker is, when attempting to catch pokemon, its a GOOD thing the Pokémon doesn't appear out of that bush you selected. For every time a Pokémon does not appear, the rarity goes up, !=common (C) !!= semi-rare (B)/rare(A) !!!= Rare (A) So, if you are trying to get that rare A group Pokémon, i would definately suggest waiting until the !!! moments.

Catching tactics

Ok, so you finally found that Pokémon you wanted? great, but, how to catch it? First off, you have 3 moves in battle to use to weaken, or attempt to capture the Pokémon with. Attack- This is the tactic you should most commonly use, dont worry, its strength is not determined by your Pokémon's attack, it is determined by other factors. for instance, If you happen to attack as your opponent choses "evade", you will lose one bar, but if you attack as IT attacks, you both lose 1 bar, but if you get lucky enough to attack as your opponent is attempting to flee, you will deal 2 bars of damage. Evade- This is a more complex tactic, if you evade when your opponent choses attack, they will lose 1 bar, if you chose evade as your opponent choses it, nothing happens. if you evade as your opponent flees, the battle will end and your opponent will escape. Catch- This is the most important tactic, use this tactic and you will have a chance to catch your foe, i have organised a chart in which the catch rates are placed. --Group C-- 1 bar- 100% 2 bars- 90% 3 bars- 75% 4 bars- 50% --Group B-- 1 bar- 95% 2 bars- 75% 3 bars- 65% 4 bars- 30% --Group A-- 1 bar- 80% 2 bars- 60% 3 bars- 40% 4 bars- 10% The catch rates do not vary depending on which route you take.
