Example

I want to use this template but have no idea how. Could someone show me how you would use this on the elemental fangs as an example? Here's the current table:

65 power, 95% accuracy, may cause non-volatile status and/or make the target flinch
Name Type Category Generation PP
Fire Fang Fire Physical IV 15
Ice Fang Ice Physical IV 15
Thunder Fang Electric Physical IV 15

It shouldn't be used in the mainspace until this page has been moved to the templatespace, and I'm sorta waiting for people to decide whether PP should be included, as the template may need to be modified slightly. Once it is though, you would put that as:
{{mvar/h|15|power=65|acc=95|notes=may cause non-volatile status and/or make the target flinch}}
{{mvar|Fire Fang|Fire|Physical|IV}}
{{mvar|Ice Fang|Ice|Physical|IV}}
{{mvar|Thunder Fang|Electric|Physical|IV}}
|}
|}
Doing so would give this:
15 PP, 65 Power, 95% Accuracy
may cause non-volatile status and/or make the target flinch
Move Type Cat. Gen PP {{{other}}}
Fire Fang  Fire  Physical IV {{{PP}}} {{{other}}}
Ice Fang  Ice  Physical IV {{{PP}}} {{{other}}}
Thunder Fang  Electric  Physical IV {{{PP}}} {{{other}}}
If people decide that PP isn't required to be the same for variations then I'll remove that from the header (remove the |15 from above) and add it to each entry (add a |15 to the end of each move's template). Werdnae (talk) 19:11, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! On the talk page under "PP shouldn't be taken into account" there wasn't anyone that disagreed, does that count as decided? Pikiwyn talk 19:15, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay, It's ready now. I've discussed it with a few admins and we feel that the PP should be similar. Something like Flamethrower, Thunderbolt and Ice Beam, where they are pretty much the same but the PP differs by 5 is fine, but something where the PP difference was bigger than five wouldn't be. If you would like to change that in the intro that would be nice. I'll write up full documentation for the template now, because there are several parameters that the Elemental Fangs didn't use. Thanks for the help. Pikiwyn talk 20:52, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Parameters

  • 1 : The move name.
  • sig : The name of the Pokémon/evo line for which it is a signature move. If none, leave out.
  • siggen : The generation until which the move was a signature move. If current, leave out.
  • note : any notes about the move.
  • 2 : The type of the move.
  • 3 : the damage category of the move.
  • cc : the previous damage category for moves that changed after the Gen IV split.
  • 4 : The generation the move was introduced in Roman Numerals.
  • other : the value for an extra column if required. Leave out if not required.

Request any additional parameters here if required. Werdnae (talk) 20:32, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Could you add a parameter for PP, for moves that have differing PP and already have an 'other' column. Pikiwyn talk 21:32, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Done. Note that the header will need to have a parameter, PP specified. It doesn't matter what as (yes will do, but literally anything will work) in order for the PP column header to show up. The template for each move also use the PP parameter. If they are both left blank then neither should appear. Werdnae (talk) 04:17, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Category

This was uncategorized, along with Template:Mvar/h, so I put it in Category:Other templates. If anyone knows a better place for it, kindly move it. Move Mvar/h while you're at it. Thanks. --P o L i 20:18, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
