Switch
Even though this is an English based site, I think we should flip the Japanese and English start and end dates around since Japan is always first. The Japanese release date is always put first on game articles so this should do that to. --HoennMaster 18:50, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

No title screens...
I checked the page for Gen V, and there was not a title screen from Pokémon White. And the title for Black is just the Japanese logo. Then I looked at the pages for Generations IV and II, and there are no title screens. Can someone reupload the title screens, please? Thanks. ~~LDEJRuff~~ 9:33 4 March, 2012 (UTC)
- Wait, never mind. The problem is that the image title screen for Pokémon Red is mistitled. It should be "RedTitle" not "Red Title". That's why the GenInfo boxes on Generation articles are all incorrect. Look at the article for Generation V. It should have the title screen for Pokémon Black, not the game's Japanese logo.
- Also, the code for this article is incorrect:
| style="{{roundytop|10px}} background: #FFFFFF;" | [[File:{{{image|{{{titlescreen|Red}}} Title.png}}}|{{{size|Pokémon {{{titlescreen|Red}}} Version}}}]]- It should be...
| style="{{roundytop|10px}} background: #FFFFFF;" | [[File:{{{image|{{{titlescreen|Red}}}Title.png}}}|{{{size|Pokémon {{{titlescreen|Red}}} Version}}}]]
- See, there's no space in between "Red" and "Title". ~~LDEJRuff~~ 17:44 4 March, 2012 (UTC)
- It appeared one of the admins changed it, I changed it back because, as you said, it broke all the links, but I'll talk to Adyniz on their talk page about it. --Spriteit 23:36, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- So sorry, I am the one who caused this fiasco. Had no idea it'll mess it up this bad, added the space because I moved the file from 'RedTitle' to 'Red Title' and it was being used here, but I guess it was a bit more complicated than that. Thanks, both of you, for informing and fixing it. ♫♪ エイディニズ ♪♫ 02:10, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Title screens
Shouldn't the title be <gamename>_Title.png? ht14 04:36, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Actually, it should be <gamename>Title.png SaturnMario, his talk and his contributions 02:12, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Support for both current length and end
Would be great for gens that we know are ending in a specific month but we don't know the day. Like Generation V, it would be nice to show the current length and that it will end in October 2013. I'm pretty sure something similar will happen to Generation VI so it won't hurt to be prepared. If it had both it wouldn't show how many days it lasted since we don't know. Suggestion
Due to the multiple variations of the title screens, could box art be used for the switch instead? SatoMew 21:02, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Multiple regions
Gen 8 is the first gen to introduce two new regions, we should adapt the template to support either one or multiple region value. Josephvb10 (talk) 06:27, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hisui is still Sinnoh, so it's not really a "new" region. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 12:44, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
Link to previous and next generation
Would it be possible to a spot on this template for the previous and next generation? Kind of like on the Wikipedia pages for video game consoles, the template has a link for the predecessor and successor. I just feel it would be an easy way to go between generations without scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page. Obviously "Previous Generation" would be hidden fro Gen 1 and "Next Generation" would be hidden for the current gen until the next one is formally announced. Torpoleon (talk) 16:03, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Seconded! The Pokémon pages have something like this with Template:PokémonPrevNext/Pokémon. Would it be feasible to add a feature like this to this template, or would it be easier to make it something separate? –Butterfreeism (talk) 20:57, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Side vs. spin-off games?
The current template might create some confusion about which games are side series games and which ones are spin-off Pokémon games. It has categories for "Battle arena games" and "Storage games," which are listed on the side series wiki page. It also has the "Side games" category, which often lists games from the spin-off wiki page.
Could the current "Side games" category be renamed "Spin-off games" instead? And could the "Battle arena games" and "Storage games" categories have a "Side games" cross-row header, like the "Debut" and "End" fields do? –Butterfreeism (talk) 20:52, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
