Protection

Not every template actually needs to be protected, even if used on a lot of pages. If the template does get protected, then it would take ages to ask admins for just one tweak, since I think they're really reluctant on touching these pages due to fear over server stress. --C.Ezra.M (T/C) 07:29, 7 May 2022 (UTC)

Templates aren't magically prone to causing server stress once they're protected. While one reason for protection is trying to avoid server stress, there are certainly others. (For this template, the server will certainly be able to handle an edit - if actually necessary.)

Please do use Template talk: pages for suggesting edits to protected templates. Especially for necessary edits (so not necessarily for all kinds of "tweaks"), I can ensure you that staff is absolutely not reluctant to (nor afraid of) editing templates, and that it absolutely shouldn't take "ages".
