English Dub Error: "Ultrasonic waves"

How is this the same as Supersonic, the attack? I'm not editing it back in as PlayerKing requested me not to again, but...no, it's not the same thing. The concept may be similar in theory, sure, however...not only was that entire dub line rewritten for Ash regardless, but also, the dub should've used the attack "Supersonic" rather than beat around the bush with a vague statement like generally stating Noibat should use its ultrasonic waves. Noibat can't use "Ultrasonic waves" as an attack legally in the games, last I checked. It's only in its Pokedex description, but there's no attack by that name at all for it, so that's the issue. There is no such thing as a move called Ultrasonic, so that reasoning of your is invalid. Supersonic is the attack name, note how its Japanese name is translated as Ultrasound. Ultrasonic is just a description of the types of waves being used by Noibat, and it does not change the scene enough from the Japanese original to warrant being pointed out (ie, it is still obvious exactly what is being done in the dub). You just admitted there's no move called Ultrasonic (which I just said before anyway), yet you contradict yourself by saying that it's a description of the waves Noibat used, when in fact, Noibat used an attack itself called Supersonic. It was also not obvious to me what was being done in the dub, until I saw the sub, and the entire line was rewritten to start with. I'd like to say the dub at least changed that at the least- there is a difference here. Ash commanded Noibat to use an attack called Supersonic, not to just use "Ultrasonic waves" like the dub has you believe. BillytheWarriorT (talk) 20:29, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
The reason it has been removed is because the dub line is a valid translation of the Japanese line. (I am not taking a side in that action. I'm just trying to explain it.) It is possible to also translate it as using the move Supersonic. The "entire line" was NOT "rewritten"; the different possible translations are one single word different.
The only argument is what the more appropriate translation should have been, "ultrasonic waves" or "Supersonic". Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:51, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
