Rewards

The article says: "Rewards are time-based: the lower the time taken, the better the prizes."

How so? The article lists just 1 prize per challenge.Machinedramon 20:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

It might have been that if you take longer than last time, you don't get a prize. I can't remember for sure. Gywall 20:58, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, looks like. Finish a few seconds under the last time and you get the prize again. Finish a few seconds over and you get an admonishment.Machinedramon 21:49, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Dang, gotta correct myself almost immediately. Looks like you don't get the reward from the Mixed Match again in FireRed.Machinedramon 22:14, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
As I recall you only get the prize once, no matter what time you got. Even if you don't beat the time when you do it the first time, you still get the item (IIRC). IIMarckus 23:47, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

The official guide for Firered and Leafgreen states that if you beat the previous time record in the battle course you choose, you get the prize. It also explicitly states that each time you beat the previous record, you will get another prize indefinitely. However, I've tried many times and never received a second gift, so the book's wrong or I'm missing something.--QX Deoxys 03:45, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Tower Shiny Pokémon

Wasn't there a shiny Pokémon in each set of trainers? Gywall 21:00, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've been doing the Mixed Match a few times today to test things, and there's no shinies there.Machinedramon 21:49, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, there's most certainly the shiny Espeon... jerks, they made me so pissed off because of that. TTEchidna 23:33, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
There's apparently a shiny Seaking [1] --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 11:53, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
There's also a shiny Meowth. The funny thing is it's owned by a burgler sprite, and a shiny Meowth would certainly be worth the steal, or it's a hommage to Team Rocket in the anime, or I'm completely reading it wrong.--QX Deoxys 03:38, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why...

Why is there the sprite of the shiny Espeon on the page? :| That's...sort of pointless, and it looks like someones (eg. a spammer or vandal) just randomly put it there. I mean, i know it's there 'cause of the whole "you can battle a shiny Espeon" thing, but there's also a shiny Meowth. So yeah. I didn't wanna remove the image in case i got yelled at my another user :< Takoto タコト| サソデイ = 愛 15:53, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Um Takoto... I don't see a sprite of a shiny Espeon... I see a battle screenshot of shiny Seaking though... ht14 03:44, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's because the shiny Espeon was removed two years ago. :P 梅子 03:49, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
