Talk:Torkoal (Pokémon)
He has a Charcoal in XY in the wild. Wondering what the code to add XY to the held items table is.
Wouldn't Torkoal be a Red-footed tortoise (Jabuti)? Or is it just a regular tortoise? - unsigned comment from User:KurowaSanCKurowaSan (talk • contribs)
- It is a regular tortoise. It's red because it's a Fire-type. A green tortoise wouldn't look like it can breath fire. R.A. Hunter B. 21:08, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Can someone edit the move tutor part to add back the move Earth Power? I just test it today and found it is complatible in Platinum(as serebii said it can't but smogon said it can, it made me so confused so I just caught one to test it) -- ChungKingPun 10:59, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
"Kotatsu" name origin
It came into my notice that Torkoal's Japanese name, Cotoise or Kohtasu (コータス), sounds oddly like "kotatsu," which is a Japanese heating table that used to have charcoal as its main source before it became electricity.
Looking at this Pokémon and the region it's based on, I'd pretty much say it's also named after kotatsu since they also kinda look like turtle shells. I would edit it in, but I don't want to go on an edit war. I'm not expecting an immediate response since, well, it's Torkoal we're talking about, but what do you think?

- Update, Torkoal is the goat, I don't know why I hated on it.
