Aren't there spinners in Icirrus Gym?----Chalkwriter 14:35, 2 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well, I would call those spinners, but those are not what the article is about. Which I guess is a good argument for moving the article to "Spin tile" as I suggested. --SnorlaxMonster 00:35, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Spin Tiles or Spinners?

There's a notice on the page regarding the possible changing of the title to "spin tiles." I think this is a very good idea, as I've always thought of spinners having an effect similar to the Mossdeep City Gym in Emerald or the Spin Mat for secret bases in Hoenn. I think "spin tiles" is much more accurate. Aggron989 (talk) 15:57, 15 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've always heard "spinner" refer to trainers that spin around, so I'd support this. HyperHacker (talk) 06:50, 25 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Same here. Particularly in the speedrunning community. Blueapple128 (talk) 14:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Spin tile

I agree with the other users here about moving this article to Spin tile. This should be moved to Spin tile. Spinning tile is also an idea, but Spin tile is probably the best option.

Are the tiles in RSE spin tiles or not?

The article contradicts itself a bit, especially with Emerald. In none of the games does the player actually spin on the tiles, and in R/S the player additionally stops immediately after they leave the tile unlike all other games where they keep going until they hit a stop tile or a wall. The discussion above about Icirrus Gym may also be relevant here. I don't have a particular preference for one way or another, but we need a consensus and the article needs to be consistent with itself. Blueapple128 (talk) 14:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

I really don't think that the most notable feature of these tiles is to cause the player to spin but rather the way they move the player (or act as "conveyors"). Notably the article already mentions that the player doesn't spin while moving from the tiles in Gen III and that the ones in Emerald don't actually cause the player to move at all. A feature in the games that would be better termed a "Spin tile" would be the feature of Trainer Hill (seen here) which acts like the canonically named Spin Mat.--MisterE13 04:04, 22 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
