Merge into Part 1
Carddass Part 1 + 2 together form a single set of pokemon cards all with the same visuals. Each individual card is indistinguishable as to which set it is actually part of. Therefore it should be one article, just as the Pokémon Carddass Part 3 & 4 article is a single article. Also, much of the information on the two pages would be duplicated since it explains the context behind the sets. Doublefelix921 (talk) 15:01, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- Adding more detail to my original comment, copy-pasting what I shared on discord:
- The reasons for the suggested merge are:
- The two sets together are completions of the original 151 Pokemon. They have identical art. Part 1 has 75 of the original 151 and Part 2 has the remaining 76. The cards themselves do not have any markings that distinguish them as being in Part 1 or 2, other than a single checklist card which lists which cards are in which set.
- The most common way to refer to the set is jointly, as "1996 carddass", referring to both Part 1 and 2 together.
- The sets were released in quick succession, from Sept 21-Oct 10 1996.
- There is a lot of context that applies to both sets, which would otherwise be duplicated on both pages or else one would have to refer to Part 1 specifically for context about the joint set.
- The sequel set to 1996 carddass is Part 3/4, which is already merged into one article.
- For some context, I have recently done an overhaul of the Part 1 page, which used to list cards that were not in the set, and was missing other cards that are in the set. The Part 2 page still lists incorrect cards for that set, but when merging that would be fixed. Doublefelix921 (talk) 18:36, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
