Talk:Old Amber (Genetic Apex 218)
Item about the "bug"
Currently, this card's trivia section notes that a "bug" is causing the card to be treated as Genetic Apex or Mythical Island regardless of where the card was obtained. I'm unsure this is a bug; the Old Amber card is exactly the same in both expansions, and on checking the Kanto Fossils Deck (Genetic Apex) - which requires Old Amber - checking one of the cards shows that it can be obtained from either expansion. Similarly, any cards with promotional prints (such as Pikachu) show that those prints also count towards the deck. I'm also pretty sure that when I opened the app this morning, Mythical Island's Dex Missions showed me as already owning one card from the set.
I'm just curious if this is confirmed as a bug anywhere? It seems pretty intentional. Cards don't have set codes or card numbers on them, either, and I think instances like this might be part of the reason why. Cipher (talk) 18:48, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- For the record, and as pointed out on Discord, this is indeed a bug and confirmed as such via an in-game message.
- Selecting the Old Amber displays the total of both sets' cards obtained, so (as far as I know) there's no possibility to say how many Genetic Apex and how many Mythical Island you've gotten, just what the total was. (The statement suggests this isn't intended either.) Nescientist (talk) 18:15, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
