News report

Yesterday I came across this news: https://www.polygon.com/2019/7/9/20687891/pokemon-card-stolen-lost-trainer-no-3-bounty . Basically the card has been lost during an oversea selling. Is it worth a mention in the Trivia section? Orion919303 (talk) 14:35, 20 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't say it would be, personally, it's unfortunate though. --Spriteit (talk) 08:22, 24 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

No. 3 Trainer Clefairy Art

any info on the card that appears on the right of the photo with the graded signed cards in this post? [1]https://www.elitefourum.com/t/fazools-collection/14161/37?u=knit1appeal2

I've never seen the art before and can't seem to find much. I assume a very old prize card or perhaps even something that was considered but not released? Knit1appeal2 (talk) 18:09, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

That's a proxy card of some kind. The "CUT" on the PSA label is shorthand for "cut signature", and it is one of the terms used by PSA to distinguish authentic signatures that are not on authentic cards. The term comes from the fact that many autographs they authenticate in this way are literally cut out from things such as signed documents.
I'd love to find the original artwork, but I came up with nothing. It seems likely to me that the autograph's recipient commissioned custom Clefairy artwork specifically for Arita to sign, based on the real No.3 Trainer. I suppose it is possible the artwork is Arita's own and from an early draft or something, but that'd be hard to find out without asking the Arita or the original recipient themselves. Regardless, in the eyes of PSA, the card is not legitimate. RotomAmiti (talk) 19:32, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
