Talk:List of permanently missable items
Thief TM
Does anyone know what happens if Team Aqua leaves the Oceanic Museum before you get the Thief TM (in both RSE and ORAS)? Is it a permanently missable item? I would expect it to not be in ORAS since TMs are reusable, but I could understand it being so in RSE. --SnorlaxMonster 12:03, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
- This was a good question, and I panicked because I didn't have it in Alpha Sapphire. However, see this video to see that the Grunt who hands it out never leaves the museum. You have to pay to re-enter, unfortunately. CycloneGU (talk) 04:44, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- Right, so that's ORAS confirmed as non-missable, but how about RSE? --SnorlaxMonster 05:24, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- If you have R/S/E, walk into the museum and pay the entrance fee. If the Grunt is standing there by himself, then it's still available even if missed.
- Actually, my Emerald is at Mauville. This is something I can investigate...maybe I will. CycloneGU (talk) 06:24, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

S. S. Tidal
The ship was aboard one time right? --HoopsterJohn (talk) 04:16, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- You can access the ship any time you take it between Lilycove and Slateport, even after defeating all of the Trainers and collecting all of the items. --SnorlaxMonster 06:05, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
HM01
You know how in FRLG, after you beat the story, the S.S. Anne gets replaced with the Seagallop? Well, what happens if you didn't get HM01 before that and instead had a Pokémon with Cut traded from another game? Will you have permanently missed the HM? - Ericss (talk) 04:27, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
- I was just about to answer that the S.S. Anne doesn't set sail until after specifically obtaining the HM from the captain, but then I reread what you said about it being replaced with the Seagallop...Holy crap, that's a good question. Now I'm wondering what happens if the player then deletes Cut via the Move Deleter...with the right setup (possibly requiring elaborate deathwarps and more traded HMs), would it be possible lategame to get permanently stuck in the first half of Kanto behind the Route 9 tree? I've added a notice to this article regarding this. Blueapple128 (talk) 02:06, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
- I can confirm that the S.S. Anne stays until you get the HM, even if you beat the game. Sarahlicity (talk) 18:26, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
S. S. Anne
Hi @Unowninator, I've seen your edit and I wondered if running to the last Pokémon Center visited due to team fainting could be a way to circumvent the ship sailing after getting HM01 Cut. If so, trading wouldn't be mandatory to reach the Lava Cookie. Sorry, I can't try it myself right now. Croma (talk) 16:47, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I don't know nor can I test myself either. I'm sorry. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 16:50, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
- While I believe this works, I can't say why I'm pretty sure about it (I could only find this).
- Either way, if receiving Cut doesn't directly trigger the S.S. Anne leaving in the first place, I think the addition should be edited either way. Nescientist (talk) 12:16, 24 January 2026 (UTC)
- Well if you want to be technical, the ship doesn't leave until you exit with the TM. Since we don't have concrete knowledge, I put it in the article and altered the wording with a {{fact}} template. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 15:34, 24 January 2026 (UTC)
