Wonder Guard

How does Gulp Missile interact with Wonder Guard? AztecCroc (talk) 08:24, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Wonder Guard only protects a Pokémon from move damage. Taking damage via other ways (such as burn, sandstorm, or Gulp Missile—basically anything that is blocked by Magic Guard) are not affected by Wonder Guard. --SnorlaxMonster 08:37, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Gulp Missile replacing Power of Alchemy

If any future editors are wondering (like I was) why Receiver is singled out on this page and not Power of Alchemy, Gulp Missile/Receiver interaction changed between Gen 8 and Gen 9. While Power of Alchemy and Receiver are considered identical in effect and behave identically in the same scenario in Gen 9, the interaction between Gulp Missile and Power of Alchemy cannot be verified in Gen 8. In my edit, I thought better to not mention Power of Alchemy at all since it only interacts with Gulp Missile in the current generation, but perhaps the wording would work better otherwise :) Charatara (talk) 17:03, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

Translation of Japanese name

I don't agree with the translation of the Japanese name being put as "Gulp Missile" when it can be straightforwardly translated as "Cormorant Missile". Additionally, I think it should be mentioned that うのミサイル is a pun on 鵜呑み. FireSide01 (talk) 03:52, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
