Terminology – game vs version

Given the precedent of version-exclusive moves and version-exclusive Pokémon, I believe this page should be moved to Version-based Evolution. "Game-based" is less specific and could potentially be interpreted as inclusive of cross-generational evolutions. Of the examples given on this page, only Dusk Form Lycanroc is exclusive to a pair of versions instead of a single version of a pair, but that's still consistent with how the version-exclusive moves page handles moves exclusive to upper versions within a generation. -- Apopheniac (talk) 18:59, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

I agree, it's best to use "version". I agree that "Game-based Evolution" could be interpreted as inclusive of cross-generational ones.

We should probably also rename Category:Pokémon that evolve based on game to something like "Pokémon that evolve based on version". --Daniel Carrero (talk) 19:14, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
