Not an error

James's Koffing using Poison Gas was not an error. If anything it's trivia. That was just a difference in the move set between the anime and the games. Some Pokémon have used attacks in the anime that weren't even around yet (like Mewtwo's Shadow Ball) and some have even used attacks that they can't learn in the games in any generation, and none of that is ever (or should ever anyway) be listed as an "error".
